Rust-Oleum 292320 Automotive Universal Touch-Up Spray Paint, 11 oz, Gloss Black

I had a scrape on the rear panel of my Toyota. I purchased both a vial of the OEM touch-up paint (Toyota color code 040), and a can of this 'bright white' Rust-Oleum Automotive Universal Touch-Up Spray Paint. I compared the two paints by spraying them side-by-side on cardboard, and saw that the Rust-Oleum was sufficiently close in terms of color to match the OEM paint. I found the Rust-Oleum was a lot easier to apply, and gave a much better appearance as opposed to the OEM, which has to go on with a brush. After two coats, when standing four or five feet away from the panel, you wouldn't know it had been scraped.I do recommend that you shake the Rust-Oleum for the recommended 1 minute, or even more, to make sure that the paint is properly mixed before spraying (test it on some cardboard to be sure it comes out evenly before applying to the car body). I also recommend taping off the area where the spray is to be applied to avoid getting the paint onto areas where you don't want it (it [will] run)

Worked like a charm. I backed my pickup into pole and some of the paint came off of the tailgate. I sprayed this paint on it and, while you can see the dent, it is not bare metal any more.

I had to give Rust-Oleum a shout out because this is the first primer paint I've EVER found that can be sprayed directly on metal or over bondo and it makes a great primer and 1st layer paint. Rust doesn't appear, unlike a lot of primers I've tried. I wouldn't use anything else ever again. Great stuff!

Hay que usarlo con calma. No se puede tratar de cubrir toda la superficie de una vez porque sino se chorrea la pintura. Pero si echas una capa y esperas unos minutos y luego otra y así, con paciencia, queda superficie bien

Used this to cover rust under my mower. Hopefully it will help the mower last a little longer.

It does nothing as advertised, …. It’s a scam …… it creates more of a mess than fixing the problem……. When you sprayed it comes out like paint mixed with excessive amount of water , it’s has no thickness to hold the color to the service,It drains off leaving the patch or scratch as is .It didn’t even deserve a star but in order to leave the review I had to select one

I used this to paint a fender for my car. The paint color was pretty close to the oem color.This paint covers well, and has a somewhat glossy finish. Half the cost of what other automotive paint suppliers wanted for the same size can for the oem paint.
