My Finicky Silky likes them!
My finicky Silky Terrier does not like dry dog treats, cookies etc... She LOVES this one! The ingredients look good and it is made in the USA. However, upon doing some research I found out that Nestle/Purina purchased Merrick in 2005- so I will closely inspect the items and see if there is a decrease in quality over time (I hope not!). I finally found a dog treat that my picky dog likes and to find out that Nestle Purina owns it makes me a little apprehensive.

Passed the Picky Eater Test
Both dogs love these treats, but I wish they came in a smaller size. They are definitely made for bigger dogs, I'm guessing 30-50 lbs or more? I Have to break them into multiple pieces for small 11 lb Chi-mix & 18 lb terrier mix, a bit hard, but do-able. Break tabs off the hat & toe off the boot & then break remainder in as many pieces as I can. One is a picky eater & these passed the test. It's a crunchy treat both love at a good price. Great for getting smile photos too - see attached photos- all taken while eating Cowboy Cookout treats! (Note - only small sized crunchy treats I've found so far that aren't really expensive are Zukes Skinny Bakes #2's but they only come in yogurt flavors which don't appeal to the littlest one (Lucky the Terrier will eat anything, Cricket, the Chi-Mix, smells his food carefully before deciding if it passes muster. Bear Crunches are pretty good, but also need breaking & are much more expensive. Cricket also will only eat them if he hasn't had another treat he likes better first - like these - he'll refuse & hold out for them instead! )

Yet another Merrick success!
I admit, I was at first disappointed when I saw these are crunchy treats in larger wedge shapes than the moist tiny ones I’ve gotten from Merrick before. (Which, by the way...five stars!). I heave two small dogs (chihuahua and Pomeranian) so I’m concerned about their weight and the quality. I did research online and the Merrick brand repeatedly is a chart-topper. I reluctantly opened the bag and offered my senior chi one. The rest was magic. They LOVED these! So they’re a keeper. (The Zukes are great also-the tiny size and moist texture were my initial faves but the treats tend to break down in the bag, leaving a LOT of crumbs and much fewer treats, messy and frustrating, and so far, Merrick doesn’t disappoint-their small chewy treats did not disintegrate at all) that’s what prompted me to do the research for top quality treats for small dogs). Sure, I’ll have to pay attention to the size and amount of these larger ones, (yes they do carry the small moist ones-my dogs love turducken! I have two bags of those and a new flavor on the way) but I’ve never seen them so completely adore any treats! (My Pom, NOTORIOUSLY picky and who more so than not will chew something once, before unapologetically going limp and letting the food drop onto me, concentrated for the first time ever while enjoying these! I taught him to give me paw (in my attempt to teach him positive behavior so he will learn...for those of you with Poms, I can hear you chuckling), and once he learned, here’s how it went: 1) paw on command (errr...suggestion); 2) paw volunteered (changed from my demand to his request) despite no command; 3) abuse of the system by using my hand as merely a lever to push that will produce a treat; 4) raining down tiny fuzzy blows on me with both paws to get my attention and provide treat; and now, 5) putting as many paws as possible in my hand (this morning he beat his prior record of two to three (front right, front left, AND rear left. No it wasn’t a fluke, he kept readjusting and putting said three paws in my hand). It gets a bit frustrating when the smaller treats literally vanish instantaneously, so I also like that these require time to consume. (Neither the old gentleman it Ruprecht the Pom left ANY crumbs). AND they actually DO smell like what grandma’s pot pie would taste like if it were morphed into a small wedge shape and dried til crunchy. Five stars. No doubt!

Love them
Hi, my name is Ellie Mae, the golden doodle dog. I love these bedtime treats. Even though I’m sleeping on the couch and don’t want to be bothered when my dad or mom tell me to wake up that it’s time to go to the John and go to bed I get up because I know I’m going to get one of these bedtime treats. I hope my mom and dad never run out of these bedtime treats for as long as I live. I hope you find my review informative.

yummy dog cookies
I love the Merrick brand. They make their products in the USA, nothing comes from China. The ingredients are All-Natural, Limited Ingredients, Grain and Gluten Free, No Corn, No Wheat, No Soy. My dogs love these and I can not imagine any pup not liking these. They smell like meat. As far as other reviews I have seen some cookies in the bag where broken but I can not imagine ever purchasing any sort of dry dog cookie and they all be in perfect shape and form. As with any dry food or cookie some will break and crumble. We used this specific cookie as a reward for our dogs going poo outside. They are a nice sized cookie so it was an extra special treat to them. They quickly learned that when they did their business outside they got one of these. Right after they go they immediately turn around and anxiously await their tasty treat!Oh, and they are shaped like little turkeys! :)

It contains BROWN SUGAR!!!
I have been buying these for my dogs for months now, and they absolutely love them. However, I just noticed that one of the ingredients is BROWN SUGAR! The ingredients listed on the Amazon do not include it, but on the back of the actual item, it clearly says so. Look at the picture to see the ingredients. The ingredient description on Amazon is different from the actual label, and they should be the same to inform the customers. I don't want my dogs to have bad teeth. I'm not buying these any more.

Dog Ipecac
My dog ate it eagerly so I figure it tasted good. The listed ingredients were good as well. The price was also good. Unfortunately, my dog threw up about an hour after she ate this treat. She has a sensitive stomach so I figured I’d give them to my daughter for her dogs. They ate them right away. Unfortunately, her one dog threw up about 15 minutes later. I would not recommend these.

AWESOME! Even our picky mastiff loves these!
Our dogs LOVE these cookies! Our mastiff is SUPER PICKY and he gets all excited and happy about these treats! So if he likes them, pretty much every dog will like them! They are a little big for training treats, but a nice size for “a few times a day” treats. They are shaped like chicken wings and drumsticks. So cute! The scent is mild and not irritating to humans, but apparently lovely to dogs! And apparently the flavour is delightful!

Excellent Limited Ingredient Dog Treats For Good Price
Good quality treats, that are a decent size. I always look for limited ingredient treats for my dog and these were a nice find especially for the price. Definitely would recommend. I feed these to my 75lb lab/pit mix, he seems to really enjoy them. They come in two different shapes, as shown in the picture. :)

My dog loved these treats, UNTIL.......
My dog loved these treats until they messed with the ingredients, I was going to order him another batch but it seems they must have started adding gold dust to them (though it's not listed) because the two previous times that I bought them from Amazon they were four dollars and change for a 9 oz. bag, they seem to be now available only from a third party seller at the inflated price of $27.24 for the same 9 oz. bag, they are good but not that darned good!

My dog loves these treats!
My 6 pound Yorkie loves these treats. Great ingredients; good price. They are hard treats so I break a treat into a few smaller sizes for my yorkie.
