Maybe not the Cadillac of staplers, but for general household use, which is my purpose, it should last a long, long time. I'm sure someone will quietly stuff it in their pocket when they're going through my stuff after I die, give a quiet, evil laugh, and take it home to use for a few more decades. Really.It's all metal (except for the rubber skid pad on the bottom) and it's a stapler. Don't slam your hand down on it like you're trying to drive the staple through the desk underneath and I see no reason it shouldn't last forever. Maybe if you staple 100 times a day you could wear it out, but if you do you should probably spend more than this model costs.I've only put about 50-60 staples through it so far, but it's shown no sign of jamming yet. It has smooth action (as good as any stapler I've ever used) and a quality, solid feel in the hand. I used it for stapling through two layers of thin, white-coated cardboard, probably equal to about ten sheets of paper in thickness, and it worked nice and easy with no effort.As of June, 2020, I paid $6.39 for this stapler and another $3.02 for a box of 5000 S.F. 4 Premium staples (recommended by Swingline for this stapler and they come in a sturdy hinge-top box). For less than $10 I think my stapler needs are set for life and probably beyond.

These Swingline staplers are workhorses! They're sturdy, jam-resistant, and can handle a good amount of paper without any issues. The 20-sheet capacity is perfect for most office tasks, and the all-metal construction feels really durable. I've used these at work for years and they've held up great. Highly recommend for any busy office or home office!

Not sure if these are legit swingline as the logo was smeared. Works well enough for what its needed for.

I bought a pair of budget staplers in Oct 2019. My wife hated them from the start. I thought they were OK. And they were for a while. But just OK. However, since I don't use a stapler very often, I kept putting up with them, even over the last couple years when I'd have to try two or three times to get a staple in correctly.And then recently, I tried my wife's Swingline 747 stapler. OH MY, sooo much better! There is a huge difference. Smooth. Little pressure needed. And the staples always go in correctly. Ordered a Swingline 444 for myself and tossed the budget staplers.My recommendation - spend the extra money on a quality stapler that works great now and will last for years.
