Doesn't Fit My 20 Year Old Laguna Powerjet 5000 Pump
I have a Laguna Powerjet 5000 pond pump that I purchased about 20 years ago. It has the light gray button click fit system. This yellow button 1 1/4 inch click fit connector would NOT click onto my pump intake. I returned it to Amazon.It seems they've modified this just enough to not fit on their older pumps. I took a chance and it did not pay off. I REALLY wanted it to work, as I plan to convert my system to a new 3 way valve (Aquascape 88026 Ultra Pump Fittings, 3/4") which had a threaded intake. The old Laguna fountain valving system that came with my pump will NOT pump to my waterfall, fountain and frog spitter all at once. I only get enough pressure for the fountain and waterfall. The outlet to the spitter just barely emits ANY water.

Excellent Replacement Connector for Laguna pump
I needed a replacement for the Click-Fit connector that came with my Laguna pump. This connector fits well up against the pump and has held up well. On the hose side, I glued a threaded adapter into my PVC hose, and screwed the hose onto the connector. This works much better and is way more secure than using the "barbed" connectors that come with Laguna pumps. Also, having a threaded connection rather than a barbed connection allows you to use regular PVC piping if your plumbing arrangement requires.
