Can i connect it to a receiver?

If your receiver has bluetooth or an "audio out" plug, that should make it work.

Can this soundbar be used with a Fire TV stick 4K and controlled with the Fire TV remote?

Mine is paired with a Firetv and use the remote for volume only.

What's the draw here? If it doesn't work with fire hometheater or integrate with Alexa why is it any better than really any other soundbar?

I have this soundbar connected to my new,2023 FireTV and it works with Alexa probably because of the TV. I have not tried the,soundbar by itself. Bluetooth works really good too.
