Hard to assemble by myself.
Ok, the instructions were good. However, it says it should take only 30 minutes to put it together. Not true. It took 30 minutes to unpack and lay out the pieces. Then it took me close to 2 hours to completely complete the assembly, mainly because that there were no starter holes to place the screws as they were self tapping. Fastening the sides to the back was not fun as it kept falling before I could use the screws. Securing the lid was the hardest part because of the way U had to hold it in place by myself, start the screws and try not to let the lid fall. Otherwise, it's looks good after all that work. Probably needs 2 people to assemble this thing.

Pink Belle loves it!
Pink Belle loves it! I'd purchased this as an outdoor shelter for my grandkitty since she refuses to stay in the house. It's easy to put together, and feels sturdy. I may shellac the outside of it to further weatherproof it.There is a slight odor that'll dissipate once it's out of the box it was shipped in.10/10

It will do the job
I recently purchased this item for a stray cat in our neighborhood. I had seen this product listed from different sellers on Amazon and ultimately decided on from this seller. We put it together last night and here is my official review. It was generally easy to put together, it took my husband and I around an hour. However, the instructions said “Panel A” yet none of them were labeled. The sides and top were pretty straight forward so we figured it out. I had read that the house tends to leak, so I put some weather proof protection on all sides of the house (see photo). The bottom panels just pop in, but there are some pretty big gaps (see photo) so I used painters tap to “seal” them. Then we placed two garbage bags over them to better keep out moisture and the cold air (see photo). There are “pre-drilled” holes so you can see where you need to place your screws. However, the hinge that opens and closes the roof didn’t seal on the original placement, so we had to tweak that a bit. The wood also doesn’t seem to want to connect when screwed (if that makes sense). There were lots of times where we’d have to take the screw out and re-do it. The wood also did split a little in different areas.I had also seen reviews of the smell. There is a smell to the house. It smells of paint not it’s nothing that I think wouldn’t go away with time. I did have to trim the plastic flaps on the doors a little so they would not get stuck. I also had to screw one into the side of the door to keep it down, yet the other ones are fine. The “insulation” is nice. However, the bottom of the house still feels firm and there isn’t much cushion. We’ll probably buy some straw (not hay) to put on the bottom for comfort and to regulate heat. I do like the fact that the installation covers the entirety of the cat house. It also zips up for easy installation and for cleaning.Overall, I think this is a fine cat house for the strays in your neighborhood. It is big enough to where you could put a small food bowl inside (I’m scared to put water since it might tip over). You’ll probably need to get something to fill in the cracks to keep out the cold air. I recommend the insulation cat house over the other without it. Especially with the cracks in the floor and how hard the wood is.If you are considering this house: please remember not to place blankets, towels, fleece, or even a pet bed in the house. If it were to get wet and cold, it will freeze inside the house. Hay will also hold moisture and may freeze. If you are looking into something that will regulate body heat and stay dry: always, always use straw!

Quality
I bought 2 of these and put them together myself sitting on the floor. I do suggest you have a 2nd person hold the top while you put in the screws for the hinge because that is the most trickiest step. These were packed well and at first I was scared they would be warm enough until I saw the zip up liner that goes inside that is pretty thick . That sealed the deal for me. I suggest a regular screwdriver to start the screws, then a drill with the screwdriver attachment and then again a regular screwdriver to finish the screws. It also has rubber feet which will be great for the snow that will get in on my partially-covered porch. The slanting of asphalt roof is great too for snow removal and run off when the snow/rain happens. I then put a smaller rug from Walmart that cost $6.88 called a fabric mat on top of the cushioned mat that comes with this cat house to protect everything and then they can be easily washed. The beauty of those is they are not bulky and you can buy a bunch of them for that price. The cons of this is the high shipping cost and there is no escape door. I ended up leaving off the plastic entrance flaps so that the cats would not be scared to enter. The cats I have here outdoors that have used this so far just stick their head out for predators and leave real quick if one gets near. I am going to bore out one of the vent holes in the back to make the hole larger if I decide to put a moist heating pad in one of them.I bought 2 other cat houses from Chewy and could tell right away they did not have the quality of wood, or the size, no escape hole, or even any insulation. I regretted buying those even though they were cheaper and wished I had bought 2 more like this model.I would buy this product again and hope they last for many years here for our outdoor feral kitties that need our help to get some shelter. We have neighbors that dump these cats and some have lived their whole lives outside. We try to tame them as much as possible, take them to the vet to get fixed and get their shots if possible. Our vet has come up with a method to put the cat under right in the carrier and can then work with the feral cat that way and then remove them for the surgery. Unfortunately I have seen a few kitties die in these brutal winters trying to find shelter under vehicles and anywhere they can so I have made a point each year to try and protect them with shelter. I did a homemade method for years, but these are so much better.
