Ink & Wash in the Garden: Watercolor & Ink Birds, Insects, Wildlife & More

I first ordered through Amazon this Author's prior book (Florals) and was amazed at the quality of instruction, the quality of the book, and my ease in following her tutelage. When announced a second book 'Ink and Wash in the Garden' was in production, I immediately purchased it on a pre-order. (Granted I have only been playing/self-teaching for about the past 4 months!)When I received the book last week, I immediately set out on Saturday to paint the Hummingbird in honor of my recently passed sister (whose birthday happened to be that day), I am thrilled about the results!Camilla Damsbo Brix is a wonderful artist, creating wonderful books for us to follow!!!

Camilla Dambo Brix has done it again. Her new In the Garden book is brilliant. This book focuses on wildlife and florals in the garden. Her birds are simply darling. The instructions are clear, easy to follow, and loads of fun. If you are interested in learning ink and wash techniques look no further. I highly recommend this book. I also recommend that you check out her first book that focuses on florals.

This is a wonderful book as it teaches steps clearly for beginning painters, but also develops techniques and skills, both painting and observation, along the way.

I pre ordered this on September 18th, and I was thrilled when it arrived the other afternoon. It was well worth the wait.She has a very nice style of teaching you how to create lovely artwork, even if you aren’t that skilled in actual drawing/ sketching.You WILL become proficient in it. For sure.Every detail is well explained and illustrated, and it’s so encouraging.She’s down to earth, and knowledgeable of her subjects.Her online courses are worth looking into.There is a supplemental course for this book, at a very reasonable price.I signed up for it, and as a visual learner, it’s so helpful. I’m glad I purchased it.The book offers a variety of garden friends to sketch and paint. The supply list is very thorough.Alternative colors are mentioned too, if you don’t have the exact item.She’s just so bubbly, and dedicated to her craft.She has such a passion for what she does, and she wants YOU to develop that spark for creating unique artwork as well.Very good book.Her first one was excellent also.

I am simply amazed at the number of gorgeous projects that this book contains along with all the detailed instructions that makes tackling each project very approachable. I think both beginners and advanced artists can benefit from using this book. Camilla’s first book was equally amazing and is a perfect compliment to this new book. I cannot wait to take a lovely stroll through the world of Ink and Wash in the Garden book and begin my ink & watercolor adventure.

Love this book with the step by step details and beautiful sketches. It will give you great ideas and confidence. I’ve never been able to draw but this makes it easy!

Camilla's first book was amazing and she has done it AGAIN! This one uses her beautiful and easily-learned style of loose watercolor painting to create adorable little plants and animals and things one would find in a garden. I can't stop sketching and painting since receiving these books. She is so encouraging and her way of teaching is SO easy to follow - anyone could enjoy and learn from this book! I find myself sketching every time I have a few moments and I can easily create a little masterpiece in no time. I feel I am on a journey that will continue the rest of my life with what is contained in her books. PLUS I have signed up for your Master Class which contains mountains more that I can repeat endlessly as I continue my journey with her. I believe you will never regret these purchases and hope that you can love creating beautiful things as much as I have (and will continue to do)

I am a huge fan of Camilla Damsbo Brix! Her books, and this is no exception, provide clear instruction with room for your creativity. Perfect for beginners or accomplished artists. Ink and wash is a freeing technique that lets you focus on enjoying the process and Camilla is an excellent teacher.

This is a great book - lovely diagrams, paintings & instructions are easy to follow. Can’t wait to get at it!
