Summer 2021: My BullFrog spa is 15 yrs old and the aux pump seal blew on the wet end. My spa guy wanted over $750 for just one pump - then more $$ to install. I wanted 2 pumps: figuring the primary pump is next since both are the same age. He even said he would not install a cheap, generic pump; they only use OEM equipment. Well this pump is my direct OEM "Aqua-Flow Flow Master" even 15 years later. Still my spa guy left me to my own "vices" saying "good Luck." Well all I needed to install this (after circuit breaker=OFF) was a screwdriver, a 1/4 socket and a 7/16 box wrench. Plus I highly recommend one extra tool: a 4 5/8" oil filter wrench ($19.99) for the PVC couplings (couplings should be hand-tight, no pipe thread needed).

I bought two of these exact replacement pumps for my seven year old Bullfrog Spa. Installation wasn’t difficult but it was very time consuming. When I finished installing them, one pump ran but wouldn’t move any water due to an air lock in the pipes that had to be released. After that it was good as new! This pump is highly recommended and Amazon’s price was the lowest I could find anywhere.

My Spa had two 2.5 HP pumps in the Spa that came with my home. They were previously maintained, but had been neglected and had been allowed to leak without repairs causing leakage and rusting. With the extensive damage, I decided to replace them with two of these 4 HP pumps. What a tremendous difference. It feels like a good tissue massage. I highly recommend. These are well built, heavy duty pumps.

This was a direct replacement for the existing Flo-Master XP2 pump my hot tub already had. It was pretty simple to swap out the old one. The motor for run a bit warm but no more than the original. I’m getting some vibration noise but less than the old pump, I suspect it’s an issue with my cabinet rather than the pump.

Pump leaks

Bought this to replace my 10 year old hot tub pump that went out. Works great and was easy install. Only trouble I had was that the wiring was a bit different for the power cord but I figured it out.

Very frustrated with the fact that after installing and filling my hot tub, I found that the in-flow portion of the pump was cracked near the threads and was leaking everywhere. I was able to replace that portion of the pump with my old pump and reinstalled everything. Unfortunately, that required draining the and refilling the hot tub and significant time. Motor is quite and works great. I suggest you review how you package the pump/motor for shipping.

Changed the pump in my hot tub. Had to turn wet end to side discharge. Other than that replacement went without a problem. You should have basic knowledge of two phase motors to do this job or get a professional to do it.
