Frontier Natural Products 2693 Fenugreek seed powder, organic 16oz

I love Indian food, and recently I had bravely taken the trek to make my own Indian food. After trying a few recipes, this fenugreek powder is a staple in my spice cabinet. My best dish is a Coconut Red Lentil soup that never quite tasted right when I used the fenugreek spice I bought at my local super market. When I ordered this one from Amazon, it made a huge difference in my soup. The maple/curry like taste complimented to coconut so well that I even impressed my Indian neighbor. When the flavor effect repeated itself in all my other dishes (Makhani Chicken anyone? It's my favorite), I knew that it was the quality of my spices that made all the difference.In addition, the same wonderful neighbor of mine who grew up in India showed me how to make it into a hair gel. I have crazy curly hair, think Merida from 'Brave' kind of hair. The Fenugreek powder in gel form had more of a maple scent than a curry scent, but I added Rosemary, Lavender, Ylang Ylang, and Sweet Orange Essential oil to mellow out the scent. I apply it to my hair right after a shower, and the scent fades quicker than I expected. By the time my curls dry, my hair smells more like rosemary and sweet orange than anything else, and my hair is frizz-free and soft. I swear it even got rid of my split ends.The bottom line: This is a quality spice for cooking that makes a real difference in your dishes, and it's definitely a fun beauty product to work with. Definitely try it, you won't regret it.

I bought this to help with my milk production. 1tsp 3x a day whenever my supply feel low - always does the trick! This is a large quantity - probably more than I will ever need. The taste is not sweet to me at all - I do not smell or taste the maple syrup, sorry! Another thing, if you consume this regularly it will affect your body odor!! Be prepared for your pits to smell more intense!

I have begun using Ayurvedic hair care so thought to try this. It dried my hair out by only using a little bit soaked in water. To give you an example of how much I used I mixed half a cup of fenugreek powder with about two or 3 cups of water and it made an absolutely colossal amount as it expanded. From this I took only 2 tablespoons thereby mixing it with 1/4 cup of aloe vera powder and about a cup of water which I let soak for several hours. Then let it sit in my hair for one hour and rinsed it out thoroughly. When dry my hair was drier than ever! I just couldn’t believe how drying it was! Never again. I don’t think this is for European hair types. Most of the videos I checked were black women using it. I don’t see any benefit using this for a hair mask. That is what my one star review is based off of.

Very good and very natural, It has been awhile since I have use Fenugreek which I used to maintain blood sugar level. I was very happy using it before, so I am sure that will remain. In reviewing the reviews I did learn that Fenugreek can be use to darken your hair and I will try that to see if it is so. Fenugreek has been used for thousands of years, it has to have quality endurance. As they say "the prove is in the pudding.

Taste bitter and flavor is not good to eat

I had never tried fenugreek before, although I had heard about it. Guess I though it was a spice for females for hormone optimization. But then I read that it is also a male hormone enhancer also, and even though I take several other testosterone enhancers with fantastic overall results, I decided to add fenugreek to the mix. I now add it to my custom made curry powder and also sprinkle it liberally on my foods when cooking healthy (the only way I cook) in the kitchen. I love the smell and taste of fenugreek and will definitely reorder, probably from Frontier, when I run out.

great in home made curry recipes. its supposed to be a HGH enhancer but I think you'd have to eat too much to make a dent. used sparingly, it adds a nice boost to soups, dressings. careful though, too much can make your food bitter and it soaks up water like a sponge making broth into paste if you're not careful.

I heard on the Dr. Oz show that this product is supposed to help with regulating your blood sugar and it probably does that but I can not get past the texture and taste. It is finely grown and I tried adding a teaspoon to my cole slaw and it made me gag. It turned into a pasty thick mess. Maybe if you add it to a beef stew it would encorporate better. I will try to incorporate into a few more recipes before giving up all together.
