Sherman OE Replacement GM1200475 GMC Sierra Pickup Grille Assembly

Good fit easy to install

I was very skeptical at the idea of purchasing this item. After all, for only ~$120 what could one truly expect considering this part costs over $500 from the dealer. Wow, I am 100% happy with my purchase. Not only is it great quality, it looks exactly like OEM with good quality materials used. It comes with the metal clips needed as well. One thing I can't believe is that Amazon was actually able to ship it using UPS and with my free prime 2-day shipping! The UPS guy brought out the package, obviously huge. It's the grill so, it is about 5 1/2 feet by 1 foot wrapped in cardboard and a big plastic bag cover.I was pretty distraught when I noticed a black frame piece sticking out of the bag. Ends up that the corner light pieces are "detachable". Thats in quotes because while they are in fact different pieces they are supposed to be clipped and glued to the frame. I definitely didn't want to exchange it considering the size and pain it would be to order another one. But it turns out all I had to do was clip it in and then use some super glue to keep the headlight piece on, good as new. Note to UPS: take a bit of extra care with these big items please!Besides that little mishap, I am more than satisfied with my purchase. The front of my Sierra now looks brand new again! For the price, you will not find a better deal out there. Note: this is for non-HD 03-up Sierra's (although it will fit 09-02 Sierra's as well, like my 2000 Sierra 2500LD, as I wanted the updated front) Highly recommend if you want to make the front end of your Sierra new again.

Amazon says it fits 2500HD. NO. not correctly. It is a standard duty grille. It lacks the hd lower filler strip that accommodates the hd body lift.I sawed the filler from my old grille and heat welded/screwed it to the new grille.

The grille arrived and I was surprised by the condition of it. This is the first time I purchased a used item from Amazon. The condition of the item was just like Amazon advertised, Like New. After moving the clips from my old grille to the new grille, the new one snapped into place. OEM fit!

Overall the fit and finish are close to an OEM part; however, there were a few problems:1. There is a spot approx the size of the dime, in the chrome that is defective.2. The is a one inch long area where the chrome meets the black center section where ABS adhesive has bubbled through to the front of the grill.3. The grill has four main clips in the center and two different (one on the end of each side) at the corners. The four in the center worked fine. The two for the corners were made wrong (to tight fit onto the plastic and would not bend enough to install on the new grill). It was a considerable flight to get the corner clips installed on the grill. Worse was the fact that one snapped (the spring clips would not allow enough deflection). I did manage to remove one from the old grill (what a difference in quality-it actually would bend/flex) and finish the installation.The whole job should not have taken more than 20 minutes. With the problem clips, it took 90 minutes. It will do the job. Hopefully the chrome does not flake off in a month or two.

The only reason this is getting 3 stars instead of 5 is because it had two broken tabs that the 2500HD black bottom plastic trim attaches to, other than that it fits perfect and looks great!*In order to use this on a 2500HD* The black bottom trim piece is heat staked/plastic welded on from the factory, you will need to carefully break these off. Then you will need a way to melt the tabs on the grill back over black trim. You can use a soldering iron, or heat up a screw driver blade with a torch (Be careful not to get the driver so hot that you melt the handle). I have a sonic plastic welder for plastic at work that did the job perfectly :)
