SpigenTough Armor Designed for iPhone 8 / iPhone 7 Case (2016) - Red

6-Month Update: Still going strong and looks like new even after a few tumbles and falls.-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------So I just got my new iPhone 8 from work and wanted a slim, modern and quality case ASAP. Tried the Otterbox type in the past, but as great as they are at protection they are ugly, too bulky,blocky and blah for such a sleek new phone in my opinion. Anyways, after an hour or two of Amazon searching and review browsing (least amount of 1-2 star reviews) I decided to pick up 3 of the top contenders to compare side-by-side.They included the Spigen Tough Armor, the Caseology Parallax Series  Caseology Parallax Series iPhone 7 / 8 Cover Case with Design Slim Protective for Apple iPhone 7 (2016) / iPhone 8 (2017) - Black / Deep Blue  and the Nicexx Case with Kickstand.  Nicexx [2018 updated] iPhone 8 Case / iPhone 7 Case with Kickstand and Slim Reinforced Drop Protection [8 ft. Grade Drop Tested], Shockproof for Apple iPhone 8 (2017) / iPhone 7 (2016) - (Black) In the end I picked the Spigen Tough Armor. It has a sleek modern design, metal backplate insert, nice thick protective corners with raised screen lip, metal kickstand and stylish flush buttons. Overall, it just feels great in the hand, and has a great combination of soft and hard touch materials. Construction feels reliable and the Apple cutout on the back is a great look!The second best IMO is the Caseology Parallax Series. It felt well built, semi-soft materials with a really nice modern case back design, but a bit thinner protection overall than the Spigen on the corners and screen lip. It lacks the kickstand which wasn't a huge deal but again, I prefered the angular and flush button design of the Spigen.Last place for me was the Nicexx case with Kickstand. Not sure how it has 100% 5-star reviews, but something fishy is up there for sure. It feels cheap all-around, not much protection on the corners or for the screen, and the kickstand is not flush on the back so the phone teeter-totters if laid on its back. The case looks nice, but that's about all it had going for me, felt like it would crack easy on any real drop or bump and the kickstand would snap off for sure.See the pictures for side-by-side comparison of the three cases and close up details of each.

I love this case! Looks great and keeps my phone safe. I drop my phone A LOT!! and my phone is still in absolutely perfect condition.The iPhone 8 is super smooth and I dropped it three times before getting this case (luckily onto carpet each time). This case keeps my phone in my hand while still being smooth enough to slide in and out of my pocket. I've still found ways to drop my phone... like throwing it across the parking lot while getting out of my car! Still no damage!!Obviously, protection was my first priority, but the kickstand ended up being a nice bonus feature. It clicks open and close really easily.The only slight issue I had with the case was getting used to the power button. It took a firmer press than I thought it should and I would end up pressing the volume button together with the power button pretty often. Once I got used to it, wasn't an issue any more.I highly recommend this phone case!

Had the same style Spigen Tougharmor case for my iPhone 5, and it lasted 3+ years with no problems (and withstood a ton or wear and tear). This case is not built the same - the gunmetal color must be coated with an extra layer because the entire case is peeling, and I’ve only had the case 6 months. It’s terribly unsightly and uncomfortable to the touch.

Love the girl but she's a klutz. She kept buying cheap cases from five below and using the warranty to swap them out once broken, but her phone also had damage from the lack of protection. After bribing her with McDonalds to try the Spigen (military man case as she put it), I ordered this after having solid success with Spigen cases back when I was in college.So far she loves it. She still drops her phone like Sprint does calls, but she no longer worries about the phone being broken. She also really likes the kick stand which is a staple on the tough armor cases from Spigen. It looks sleek for the amount of protection it provides and it gives her piece of mind, which obviously gives me piece of mind.

On the ranch we’re hard on phone cases. Had another Spigen on my 5S for the last two years and it worked great. Only changed to the Tough Armor version when I upgraded to the 8 which is a little larger than the 5S. This one is even a little stouter than the old one yet slides in and out of my pocket easily. Not clunky like the the wife’s Otter cases. Has enough lip on the front to protect the screen when you set it face down (or drop it). I don’t watch movies on my phone so the kickstand feature doesn’t get used but it does seem to work as described. Case goes on easily and absolutely stays on.

My son and dad have the Spigen Tough Armor (2nd Generation) . They absolutely love this case. My son has dropped his phone many times and the case completely protected the phone. The "kickstand" is such a wonderful integration to the case. As we add phones or need new cases for other phones, we are definitely shopping here! Fast shipping and we couldn't be happier!!

I upgraded my dad's old samsung phone to new iPhone 8 so I wanted to make sure he gets good protection from accidental bumps and drops. Whenever I'm looking for a phone accessories, I always search for Spigen brand because time after time they have proven that they do in fact make quality products at affordable prices.Well, this case was no exception! It's a classy looking case that provides a good protection while it feels solid in your hand. My dad also loves the kickstand as he uses it to watch youtube on his iPhone time to time.THE BOTTOM LINE:5 out of 5 stars! Highly recommended and I would buy this case again. Brilliant, really does protect my phone as I tend to drop it quite often and I know it’s going to be fine

Pretty easy to put on, it seperates into two parts, comes with instructions just in case. It fits on nicely and has a raised lip on front to help protect the phone in case it drops face first. Buttons work really well, no gaps for dust to get in like some cases. Has a real nice feel to it, not slippy so matt finish is great. It is beautifully made and doesnt look cheap like other chinese rubbish. Only downside is it does make your phone bulkier but its either protection or broken phone if you drop it. Well impressed and a really good price considering how well its made. Still goin 2 years in. Great case

Designed for the iPhone 7 , fits the iPhone 8 but the logo if off centred on the phone.. Go to Spigen website and iPhone 7 Plus uses a different part number.

After dropping my old 5C and it fell to pieces, every phone I've had since has had a Spigen case. Since then none of my phone have broken or had any damage from what I expect the case to protect the phone from. Only tip I would give is still get a screen protector, I recommend anker those two combined have kept all my phones working perfectly

I had a Spigen case on my iPhone SE (Such a great phone!) but it was time to move on from my little SE to a regular sized iPhone (upgraded to the iPhone 7) and as such I needed a new case and the first thing I bought was a Spigen case! My reasoning for this was because I had such a great experience with Spigen previously on my SE, I would go with what I know, and of course, what I trust.The case is exactly the same as my previous case for my SE in that it has the same durability, comfort, and it adds a nice weight to the phone as well. It forms a good grip on the phone, which is the main reason people drop their phones because they tend to slip out of hands. There's not really any need for screen protectors on a Spigen case either, as the case wraps around the device and it has a raised edge to prevent the screen from touching whatever surface the phone is laying on. There is one quality of life improvement I have noticed on this particular case; it has a little clip at the back which acts as a rest if you are watching media on your phone, so this is a nice little touch.If you want a decent case that you want to protect your phone with; don't settle for a gel case. Settle for a Spigen because trust me, it will protect your phone for years! I know this as my iPhone SE is scratch free and still looks brand new.
