The downside is that the stamp has a frame that it follows on a track which is helpful if you have a straight edge to align to. However my ink pad is too big and it ends up with an unintended box around the date. I suppose it’s helping you to get a direct 90° angle when stamping but the negative side effects are too off putting for me. I’m not sure how to avoid the extra box from my XL ink pad but maybe there’s a way besides a perfectly fitted ink pad. I also feel that this frame prevents you from using it for anything besides ink.

Worked right out of the box. No issues. Ink stamp is clear and changing the date is intuitive and easy to do.

It easily marks the lids and, importantly for our needs, the ink can be wiped off with just a little soap and water when necessary. Despite being much smaller than our previous stamp, it does not compromise on the legibility of the print, which remains clear and easy to read. This smaller size also makes it easier to store, a welcome benefit in our often crowded farm workspace.We were in need of a replacement for our old stamp, which was nearing the end of its usability, and the MaxMark 2000 has met all our expectations. It's a straightforward, efficient tool that enhances our daily operations by streamlining the dating process.

So this is a pretty small stamp, as stamps go. However it has a preinked pad and does its job just fine - stamping the date on things. It uses the DD/MMM/YYYY format (23JUN2024) so there is no ambiguity about what date is stamped.It does start with 2022 which is really kind of like losing 2-plus years right off the bat although maybe there's some reason to backdate something that isn't totally nefarious. The end date is 31DEC2033 so if you buy it quickly you can squeeze about 9 1/2 years out of it as long as the ink pad is refreshed.

I made a mess when first trying to set the date because I did not see the instructions in the box. Once I found the instructions it was easy to set the date and not messy at all. Stamps cleanly with the right pressure. Too light of pressure you get a stamp not entirely inked. Too much pressure and some numbers have too much ink (to be expected).

So the stamper itself works well. Simple enough to change the date. It's old school as is apparent from the design that hasn't really changed in decades. But it serves my purpose well enough.The box however looks like it's from the 80's. Its worn out. Definitely doesn't look new. Also there are some places on the box that have been marked black with a permanent marker. I am not sure what that's about.The stamp date was set to 11 May 2024 so I am assuming it's new. And it works. I knocked it a star because I expect the package to also be new when I order a new product.
