Small but mighty
Despite having smaller hands, I prefer larger pens so was reluctant to get this at first. Love my Sailor Pro Gear (medium nib) and decided to give this Pro Gear Slim a try, since this particular model was a good price on Amazon.Turns out it’s a solid performer. The fine-medium nib is the tiniest bit scratchy, but it’s still mostly smooth and it’s fun having a thin line to write with sometimes. It’s comparable to a Pilot Metropolitan fine nib in line size.Posted and unposted, the pen fits comfortably in my hand (again, I have smallish hands). The ink flow is exactly medium (not wet but not dry), and the writing experience feels precise because of the harder nib. It’s quite similar to the feel of the Platinum 3776 (albeit smaller), but the color options really give the Sailors an edge in my book.Color is better than expected. The cap is slightly darker than the barrel, which has a pearly vibe to it, and I thought I’d hate that mismatched look. But I don’t hate it… and it fact, these shades of blue cheer me up whenever I see the pen. Feels like a fun change of pace. This isn’t my daily driver, but I’m pleasantly surprised by this pen. If you’re down for a smaller pen, sort of like the Pilot Prera or Pelikan m200, this is not a bad option. The real premium here is the color, IMO, so pick a color you love. Maybe it’s this one.

actually sailor
Of course buying from amazon is a gamble, but glad this was actually a Sailor fountain pen, the only unfortunate thing is that it is JUST the fountain pen, so it does not come with cartridges' nor a converter.

A Good Buy but No Converter
Why did you pick this product vs others?:Wanted a gold nib and have had previous experience with sailor pens so I went ahead and bought this. Unfortunately the listing is misleading as the pen came with two ink cartridges and no converter. Luckily I already have one but still a disappointment.Design:The barrel is slightly translucent compared to the solid cap. Still a nice blue but it would've been better if the whole thing was the same material.

I like the pen. It feels a bit cheaper. But you won't notice it in daily uses.
The pen lies in hand like it should be there. I use it everyday. It is a bit scratchy at the beginning. Then it becomes smooth with a bit of a classic Sailor contact. I love it!

Excellent sailor PGS for a great price.
I have always been a fan of the Sailor PGS form factor and this is no exception. It’s a perfect compact pen without being too small and it writes like a dream with the distinctive Sailor “pencil like” feedback. A great all around pen, especially for someone just dipping their toes into gold nibs.

Absolutely perfect
This is probably the best writing fine nib pen that I own in my collection of several hundred. Its actually a MF but writes a fine, smooth, wettish line. The tactile feel while writing is excellent. It is the slim model, about the same size as a Pelikan M200/400, and the craftsmanship is absolutely excellent. At around $60, it has to be one of the biggest bargains around.
