A quick but helpful read for artists or an artist in your life
An easy afternoon read to make it through the 133-page illustrated book. The most helpful chapters for myself were the exercise strengthening and stretching guide at the end. This book unfortunately only spends a few paragraphs on how to modify your art drawing/painting setup to be ergonomic. If you're looking for a resource on finding a good chair, sit-stand desk, or easel, this is not the book for you.But the main message throughout the book of identifying pain (and being proactive to managing it) is something teenage art enthusiasts and long-time art professionals could be reminded of more often. Overall enjoyable read and useful references make it a worthwhile purchase.

A Must Read
This book helped me to change the way that I approach working at a desk, and my posture has improved dramatically in the last few weeks. Although much of the information is out on the internet on how to stretch and how not to slouch, the fun illustrations and having all of the information compiled in one place makes this book more effective for me. I highly recommend this book.

Helpful and Fun
This book has been really helpful in learning techniques to stretch! Using just a handful of new stretches and strengtheners for a few days every so often has helped my upper back and shoulders a lot! This book is a fun read given that being an artist it helps that it has interesting visuals and jokes to help break down the medical terms and whatnot. I have been wanting to help myself as an art athlete but from what I gathered google searches are lackluster in knowledge for artists and can be quite boring. This book is the complete opposite! I'm very happy this book exists. Definitely would recommend.

Great Book for Creative Professionals, and Anyone Working at a Desk
I'm an illustrator and animator who has suffered (possibly lifelong) injuries due to a poor work set up. Now that I'm working mainly from home, breaks and strengthening exercises are easier for me to do throughout the day. This book gives you very helpful exercises and stretches from head to toe to keep you creating at your best, and doesn't shy from telling you to see a specialist before you ending up hurting yourself worse.I'm very satisfied with my purchase and will be using it throughout my career.

A necessity for all artists
Practical tips on drawing injuries, pain, working smarter and has a section on exercise which includes combination work/exercise patterns. Loved that Willberg refers to artist injuries as being like athletic injuries.

a MUST!
I bought this book after I got a serious case of RSI. This is a must for any creative who spends hours hunched over writing, drawing and making. The best thing you can do for yourself is purchase this book. It can be read within a few hours since it's mostly drawings! Yes, instead of reading boring segments about health and statistics, this is fully illustrated and contains all the information you need to know to PREVENT any injuries and how to treat your body nicely so you can be the best creator possible. Prevention is key here! Like me, don't wait until you have injured yourself to read this.

If you are a creative sat a a desk regularly, buy this book.
A very insightful, visually engaging and readable book about some of the physical problems we can experience as creative practitioners. It provides some practical advice as to how to combat some of the physical injuries, stresses and strains we may encounter and some exercises to maintain our fitness.A thoroughly good read and heartily recommended.

finally a helpful book for artists with chronic pain
I've been pretty hopeless when I bought this book. I've done physiotherapy and used braces before but both didn't work out enough to help me deal with the pain I feel when I draw longer than 2-3 hours a day. This book helps you understand why you feel pain, how you can decrease it and stays positive throughout. Half of the book is filled with excercises that focus on hand, neck and lower back; all of which were tested by the author when treating struggeling artists. And that's what's been missing with my regular physiotherapy. They didn't understand the special needs of artists, so it fell flat in the end.Ever since I read it and made their excersises my routine my wrist pain has significally decreased and my motivation to do art increased.I wish every young artist came across this book before they struggle with pain.
