Outstanding quality bacalao! Expertly packaged and delivered quickly. A perfect balance of flavor, texture and thickness.Quality salt cod has become harder to find in my neighborhood. Most stores are selling salt pollock!! I have no use for that. Wet grateful these guys are doing it right!!I’ll be back for more.

Start off with the package it was well packed he took the time to crumble up pieces of Wax paper so the Cod would not bounce around in the Box outstanding. Then I went to my scale and weighted it ... man gave me an extra pound 2.5 lb outstanding. With those two pieces of Cod I was able to do Cod fritters cod fried rice and a Cod salad and the taste of this Cod was superb. And not one bone all I can say is I was very impressed and will buy my Cod from this man again and again. My only regret was I didn't take pictures of it.

Since we could not find bacalao (Salted Cod) anywhere in our area, we ended up buying it via Amazon, although we were leery at first (It being fish and all).We received it well packed and with no outward fishy smell. Of course, once we took it out of its packaging there was a fish smell, but fresh.We did the recommended desalting over a day or so and we prepared our Bacalao a la Vizcaína.Came out perfect. Delicious. Fish was definitely fresh.The only reason I took off a star was because of shipping. It takes almost two weeks to arrive and since it is not available through Prime, the shipping is expensive.

This company, Frank and Sal’s Italian Market, exceeded my expectations with my order of salted, boneless codfish! Beautiful, thick pieces of cod (seems more than 1.5 lbs!) arrived packaged with care all the way to my Arizona address (and it’s 102 degrees today!) and it was 5 days EARLY! Now I can make my special recipe in time for my 70th birthday!! Thanks, you guys!!

When the fish arrived it was a large beautiful filet and a piece of a smaller one tied in a plastic bag with a cold pack. The problem was that the fish was not well salted. It was still flexable and had retained enough water to begin to go bad.Being ever the optimist, I soaked it overnight. In the morning I changed the water but the faint smell of rotting fish was still there. I tasted the meat and to my surprise it was ready to prepare. When properly salted it should take two or three days of soaking and several water changes before the fish has given up enough salt to prepare.I fully prepared (boiled, combined and fried) the Cod and when done, it still smelled like rotten fish, so I had to throw it away.Others appear to have had good fortune with this fish, mine was not. I will not try this product again.
