IYV 6 String Semi-Hollow-Body Electric Guitar, Right, Natural (IJZ-500 NA)

It's got gold hardware and amber knobs unlike the silver hardware and black knobs pictured. Body needs a buffing and some droplets of poly near input jack. All pots work. Neck smooth, Frets good, strings a little light. Binding glitches on flourintine tip and neck joint but nothing serious. Otherwise a gem, a keeper to be cherished.

This guitar arrived in bad shape. The truss rod had been torqued to its limit, making a back bow in the neck that I’m surprised didn’t cause breakage during shipment. It took a lot of adjustment to get the low frets to create tone, but once I got it there the tones sounded nice. The tone and volume pots are horrible, and only work somewhere between 6 and 10, complete dead zone on each pot below those numbers. The neck pickup volume pot is basically a toggle switch, it only works between 9 and 10. There is damage to the neck, I assume from someone smacking it with a tool, or maybe it was misgauged somewhere in their process. The truss rod cover was so crooked it looked ridiculous, and the screw had been stripped it had been tightened down so aggressively. I have got the guitar playable now, but it’s going to need more work to make it play well. The action is set very high, it will take some time to get it lowered because there are so many high frets. There are pick marks all over the front of the guitar, which will need to be covered as well, because they really stand out. The tuning pegs are no better than the rest of it, they feel loose and cheap, barely able to hold the guitar in tune. The wood bridge is just a wood bridge, and I haven’t adjusted the height yet, so I don’t know what to expect from the hardware on that. If it’s anything like the rest of the hardware on the guitar, I expect I’ll need a replacement bridge. The tailpiece seems to work, I’ll give it that. So, the hardware they put on this guitar is basically just like demo hardware. It allows me to balance out the guitar and get it set up. I’m going to have to do a lot of part replacements, so I wouldn’t recommend this guitar to a beginner. If you already play, and are looking at this as a mod platform, it’s worth the money. The bones of the guitar are all there and it’s a beast. I won’t be able to tell for some time if the wood was dry enough to build a guitar out of it, but the unvarnished interior, from what I can see through the f-holes, looks promising (though very sloppy, it looks like they cleaned the white paint off their brushes on the panels of the guitar that wouldn’t be a Class A surface. All in all, despite all the terrible hardware and QA problems, I’m excited to get the toy hardware off it and try some real components. I have a pair of Pearly Gates ready for it, I just need to pick up a decent harness and some good pots. If you enjoy experimentation and plan on making this guitar your own custom instrument, if that’s what you call fun, this is a great box.- After fixing some bad solder at the switch in this guitar, I got both pickups working normally. The pickups are not bad, I actually like them. I think the only thing I might do now to make the guitar better is replace the tailpiece. I feel like notes are ringing kind of dead on that and I think it might be the material. I like the guitar a lot more after playing it more. It takes some getting used to because its awkward if you've been playing solid bodies to switch to a jumbo body like this. The more time I put into playing it though, the more I like the design. It's not an L5 but it's a pretty cool approximation of one for the money. You just have to be ready to solve some problems. I don't have any idea how likely problems might be, I guess we have to wait for more reviews to find out.

Hello everyone.First of all, let us get this out of the way. When someone purchases a guitar (whether it is used, refurbished, displayed model, with minor imperfection, or a new one) at some point you are going to set the action, set the intonation, treat the fret board, file the fret ends, replace/modify the knobs/switches/bridge/strings/pickups/neck/etc. to your preference.It is no difference when you buy your vehicle. Eventually, you are going to change/add/replace/modify items on your vehicle to your liking. And that is fine. With that said, please do not count these components as a negative criticism towards these guitars.Let us just focus on the guitar itself. With minor tuning and neck adjustments, these guitars are ready to play right out of the box. As you know, minor tuning and neck adjustments are common with any guitar you purchase.The finish, quality, and construction of these guitars are awesome. The headstock is eye-catching. The neck is straight. The frets do not have dents/divots and are smooth (no sharp edges). The fret board is fine. The body is beautiful. The joints/seems are connected to satisfactory. The hardware (pickup selector or switch/output or input jack/volume & tone knobs or controls/bridge/pickups/pick guard/tuners/electronics/screws/nuts/strap buttons/fret or inlay markers/fret nut) are nice, functional, and tight.There may be some small blemishes or cloudy finishes here and there, fret board might have some kind of dye on it, but nothing really significant that would cause you NOT to play the guitar immediately.I’ve made NO modifications or changed any components on this guitar and had no major issue with feedback noise, guitar getting out of tune from hours of play, components getting loose or not working, breaking strings, electrical issues, etc. Again, everyone has their option on what they consider feedback, guitar out of tune, components getting loose or not working, breaking strings, electrical issues, etc. And that is okay. It also varies on the equipment (amps/stacks/pedals/cables/etc.) you use and how you play these guitars.In conclusion, these guitars are attractive, feel great, look fabulous, sound terrific, entice you to play them and definitely fun to play.I’m sold and I’m a HUGE fan of the IYV Guitars! I wished I could have purchased the earlier models when they first came out. If I had the money, I would buy all the IYV models.For an electric guitar under $200.00 and with no shipping fees, these guitars are an excellent investment! I will say it again. Not only are these guitars gorgeous, but they are also a pleasure to play.I hope IYV will continue to produce new models or have older models available because I am excited in purchasing them in the future.Thank you IYV Guitar company/staff for producing this magnificent product!

Many rave reviews of this instrument, so my hopes were high. But the one sent to me had a warped neck that is unusable without re-planing the neck. On the 1st string the neck needed tightening; and on the 6th string the neck needed relief. Worse than that, there was a hump in the neck toward the headstock.Now, My IYV-IJZ-300A TSB Jazz Guitar came flawless in setup, intonation, tone and strings. The most perfect out of the box instrument I've ever bought. So, I'm waiting on Amazon's refund. So if they give a full refund, I'll not hold this experience against them. And I may try to get a good one. Everything was perfect, except the neck. Amazon's warranty of the products they sell is good. And I returned the instrument the way it came.
