RAVENOL J3A1001 Brake Fluid - DOT 5.1 SAE J1703 Synthetic (1 Liter)

I have a 2013 Mustang GT500 and participate in a few track days each year. My car is stupid heavy and every track day, my breaks dead by the end of the day. I have tried racing rotors, racing pads, synthetic break guild, etc, I always loose them. However, I switched from Fords fluid to this stuff and it helps! Not a huge help, but an additional 20 laps was worth switching for. I’m a fan for life. This is my second season running Ravenol and will continue to use it for years to come. Recommended!!

As far as I can tell, this is the so close to being the best quality brake fluid at by far the best price I've seen. I also really like that it came in a metal (non porous) container.I recommend it. Used it as overkill for my 2004.5 Dodge Ram 2500.

I recently did major parts replacement to our ageing Volvo including new hoses and calipers. This Ravenol brake fluid is performing very well as the fluid I used to flush and refill the system.Although it is Dot 5.1, it doesn't seem to have any compatibility problems with the system which originally was filled with Dot 4. Note that 5.1 is completely different from the silicone based Dot 5 fluids.

A few years ago, Wagner had the best price on DOT 5.1, but that has since changed. Also, Wagner uses plastic bottles.Ravenol still uses metal cans, which means it has a longer shelf life, and if you don't use it all, you can save it for later. With a plastic bottle, once you open it, you can't keep what you have left; you have to dispose of or recycle the unused part, because the plastic absorbs water.

I replaced my OEM DOT 3 brake fluid with this 5.1. I could not find this stuff in the auto part store. It's supposed to be the best brake fluid on the market with the highest boiling point so that's important for some to know. After bleeding the system and putting this in the brakes seem to work smoother. It's more for extra insurance that I did it because boiling or overheating the brake fluid is a big safety issue.

Great stuff. I purchased 1 can for my 1995 Mercedes Benz E320, and my 1992 300E. Evacuated all of the old fluid out, and replace all of the rubber break lines the blead the system.

Can't speak on the quality of the brake fluid but the can was beat up pretty bad, it's not leaking so I guess that's good.

Damals war das Zeug günstig, also habe 2 Dosen gekauft. Leider hat der Lieferant verbeulte Dosen geschickt - sowas ärgert mich !Stellen Sie sich einen verbeulten Neuwagen vor - er ist neu und funktioniert auch, aber Beulen gehören da nicht hin !Nach 2 Jahren in meiner Werkstatt ist die Dose aussen rostig.An einem Oldtimer habe ich die DOT 4 gegen 5.1 Flüssigkeit gewechselt. Selbst mit Handschuhen lässt sich die Berührung mit der Flüssigkeit nicht immer vermeiden. Was ich als sehr positiv empfinde ist, dass im Gegensatz zu DOT 4 Bremsflüssigkeit bei der DOT 5.1 Bremsflüssigkeit sich bei mir kein Taubheitsgefühl einstellt ! Natürlich muss man trotzdem Handschuhe benutzen und das Zeug sofort abwaschen, wenn es zum Kontakt gekommen ist.Noch ein Hinweis: DOT 5.1 ist mit DOT 4 und DOT 3 kompatibel; DOT 5 ( ohne .1 ) ist auf Silikonölbasis und nicht kompatibel !
