Great for daily exposure
I have other posters that cover Kanji, but this is the one I've spent with the most so far as it cover both Hiragana and Katakana. I put it near my bed so I can look at it first thing when I wake up. I like how the pronunciation letters are significantly smaller; makes it easy to try to read the characters without accidentally seeing the pronunciation.

Easy cheat sheet for anyone trying to learn the basics of Japanese - but an odd size
My son is hoping to travel to Japan in a few years, and wants to learn the language. I thought this would be a nice way for him to get the basics started. It's colorful, and is organized by the sounds and patterns. I think for beginners, this is a great way to practice the characters and be familiar with them to build into words. And once familiar with the characters, even though you may not know exactly what the words are, you'd at least be able to sound out the words and go from there ... just like when learning any language.Important key point here: it's sized at A3, which is 11.7"x16.5". In Asia, A3 is probably really easy to find a frame or covering for, not so much in America. I'm sure Amazon offers what you need, but if you do want it mounted or covered, just know that it's an odd size, not any sort of typical inches that can be found in stores. You may be wondering why I'd want to frame this if it's for practicing the letters, but it comes rolled up and is that thin material that really wants to be rolled up on its own. If you want it to be a flat picture/poster, then you'll want to put it inside of something to keep it flat. I went to a local store and bought a frame that is 12x18, as anything else it too small. It's just one of those simple frames that you pop in the picture from the front, so I'm hoping that after a while, the picture may become flat.Other than that, this is a nice and easy cheat sheet to learn Hiragana and Katakana.

Perfect
Excellent for preparing students to take a Japanese language course in which hiragana will be used. These have been very helpful with learning the basic japanese characters. Good build quality.

Durable
Bought this to help w/ my 4yo learning Japanese. After a few weeks of her running around the house with this I can say it is durable. I haven't tested whether it's truly waterproof but I think it would be. It's some type of plastic material. Like paper but not paper tho. Easy to read and a good reference for someone who is learning Japanese. Recommend this.

Very nice with large easy to read characters/text
You can of course print out charts, but this being a bit bigger and a bit more durable than regular paper means better visibility so you can look at it and learn without having to hold it. I'm trying to memorize and need all the help I can get- be it on phone apps, printed paper, and now this- the goal is to get the characters in front of my face as much as possible so I can actually remember them. This hanging next to me helps with that. The size makes it easy to read, and I love that includes Hiragana and Katakana with the English pronunciation (Romaji) and they are all grouped in a way that makes sense for easier learning of the characters and their sounds. It is so easy to get discouraged as I'm trying to learn a bit later in life, but having this easy to read chart makes me a bit more optimistic. It is better than regular paper, but I do wish it was a bit more thick and durable so I could roll/unroll without creasing... but if you're going to hang it and leave it in a spot, it's fine. I'm probably not going to shower with it as we run out of hot water fast enough as it is, but it being hung right next to me where I can see it and try to focus on a character at a time is awesome.

It’s like a thin glossy paper
Nice little poster but it’s a bit flimsy and thin. It’s helping me keep up with my Japanese though so it works fine lol

Not laminated but good print
I saw in the description this was waterproof so I assumed it was laminated. It is just printed on a thin piece of glossy paper. It would be very easy to bend, tear or crumple this poster if you aren't careful.I'm planning to get it laminated to put under my glass table top, or at least framed for my office.
