Pillsbury Quick Bread and Muffin Baking Mix, Pumpkin, 14-Ounce Boxes (Pack of 12)

I was happy to find these on Amazon. If i don't get them used by the pull date, which is April, 2025, I will freeze them. They make great cookies and bread. No damage on the boxes. Will purchase again, when needed.

I bake this quick bread almost every other day. My family loves it and eats it as fast as I can fix it. You can follow the directions on the box, & after that you can add mashed banana's and chopped pecans to the batter prior to baking for a richer loaf of banana bread. (If you add banana's, you will need to refrigerate the bread or it will mold). If your family is adventurous, don't limit the fruit you add to just banana's. I have tried adding blue berries and strawberries, cut in small pieces and the bread was still very good. I always top mine off with powered sugar that has been mixed with a little bit of cream to make a thick white frosting. Once you apply the frosting (if it is thick) it will dry in about 5 minutes, so whenever you cover the bread the frosting will stay on the bread and not stick to the foil or saran wrap.

I use this mix to make incredible Cranberry-Apricot muffins (use muffin recipe on box and add about 3/4 C. chopped dry apricots). It makes the best muffins ever! (I used to make a loaf but muffins are easier) Have made them for close to forty years and everyone loves them. Wish I could still find the mix in the store but @ $4.75 a dozen it makes the cost about 40 cents each. A lot cheaper than a candy bar and tastes a whole lot better! The dozen I bought were delivered August 11th and they have an expiration date of April 6, 202l. Oh, I sprinkle a little sugar on top of them before I bake them to get a nice lightly crisp and brown top.

Over time (as is typical with manufacturers) the packaging of this product has changed as well as the name. The emphasis is now on the "Cranberry" but I still love this bread. I first tried it in 1996 and the thing that sold me was the great Orange flavor that was such a standout. I've been buying this Bread Mix ever since. However in the recent pass it never seems to be in the stores where I shop which is what prompted me to search it out on Amazon. I am glad I found it there and was able to stock-up. It's great fresh from the over or later, if you can keep it around for later. It's good alone or spread with butter, or other favorite spreads. And of course it's versatile - bread, muffins, or even pancakes, whatever you desire. I usually add a little extra orange zest and chopped nuts...it's great! Oh, I think I smell it now! Got'a go check my oven...

My kids inhale this and it makes our house smell like Fall. I purchased a 12 pack to keep on hand. It can be difficult to find in my grocery store if it is not Thanksgiving so I am thrilled I can have it sent to my door. It can be made into muffins or loaf form but we prefer the texture of the loaf. I have actually wrapped in tin foil and taken on trips and it travels well. I also make the loaf, cut into smaller pieces and serve at parties with apple slices and caramel. Super easy to make and a sweet without it being a cake.
