So far, so good.
This is the fifth printer I've bought in the last ten years. The others have all been colour inkjets which have lasted for a year or so before the printing quality became unacceptable and they had to go. This time I'm trying a mono laser printer - I'm hoping that the laser printing mechanism is more robust than that of the inkjet printers and that this printer will last longer than its predecessors. This printer certainly has a quality feel to it. It took quite a few minutes to remove all the protective packaging and install the included toner cartridge, but the task was easy enough to do.Setting up the wireless connection to my computer was also quite easy - I just followed the instructions in the booklet and the printer picked up my wireless connection and installed itself, although it did take about 20 minutes to do so. It works well - prints are very clean and crisp. The copier and scanner are both easy to use. There's also the possibility of printing remotely with this device via the HP website if required. So far, so good.

A bit troublesome to set up, but then works well.
Like some other people, I had trouble with the wireless set up (from a Macbook Pro): tried several times but the process always failed towards the end. I spent some time looking through troubleshooting notes on HP's site, and eventually I found a remark that the printer only supported 802.11n WiFi in the 2.4GHz band. I remembered that my router uses both 2.4GHz and 5GHz, so I disabled the 5HGz band on the router and I was able to set up the printer for wireless printing using a USB cable. I re-enabled the 5HGz band on my router and it has worked fine over WiFi ever since.Once connected to my WiFi network, it also works fine over WiFi under Linux with hplip (my OS is Antergos: a variant of Arch Linux). I had to make sure that "cups" and "sane" were both installed before setting up the printer, and had to run "hp-setup" first to download the HP plugin, even though the system thought that it already had it.Printing is nice and fast and the quality is reasonable for this price, and the scanner gives mostly good results although it has some internal "intelligence" that tries to detect when you are scanning several pictures at once and separates them into different files. In one case it split a single picture with lots of white areas into little bits, and I couldn't find a way of turning this function off. Eventually I solved the problem by putting the picture under some coloured card so that it was completely surrounded by a coloured border, and then cropped the border away after the scan.

Quick, practical, small enough and economical
Very happy so far. The ink doesn't dry like inkjet printers, so it suits me as I don't do copies very often. And this will probably make quite economical in the long-term, despite being more expensive to buy than some inkjet printers. The quality is good and sharp, as expected for a laser printer. Setting-up was very easy with my macbook and it prints wirelessly from my mobile devices (iOS and Android). It fits in a tight space (Ikea unit) without the front part, which is easily placed when required. It only takes seconds to get a page, which is very fast compared with my old inkjet printer that took ages to warm up, and wasted a lot of ink to clean itself.

Great printer
No set up problems here - plugged it in and pressed the wireless button, it prompted me to press the WPS button on my router and automatically connected to my home network without the need to enter my router's password. Then I was able to wirelessly print to it straight away from both my MacBook and iMac without the need to install anything further, and my iPhone also prints to it no problem. No messing about, very impressed. It's a bit too chunky for my liking and the LCD display is difficult to read, I have to get right down next to it to see it, but they are my only criticisms and I've owned a few printers over the years

DO NOT BUY!!! Installation problems caused horrendous difficulities
The LaserJet Pro MFP M125nw has arrived and:-1. The network cable (USB cable) is only 1 metre long. It's too short so I've just been out to buy a longer cable.2. To install the printer the instructions say to insert the CD into the PC and follow the on-screen instructions. Should be simple. BUT.... the on-screen prompt says to run autorun.exe. A pop-up bubble appears in the middle of the screen which is blank. This should prompt the next stage - but it's blank suggesting that the auto-set up isn't working correctly.I've since been advised that the HP drivers are "a bit too clever" and that it's commonplace for HP installations to fail and cause problems. Easy to set-up??? A resounding "NO"! I've wasted 4 hours today since I lifted the printer out of its box. I now have to wait until tomorrow morning to ring HP to get some advice. One day later:I've spoken to HP help desk, who took control of my PC remotely to try and install the drivers again, and again, and again.... Neither the USB connection nor Wireless will work. I now have no printer connected as my previous printer is no longer "recognised" by my PC, presumably because the MFP M125nw has caused issues with my computer set-up. This is horrendous. I've spent 4 or 5 hours today on the phone to HP. Give them their due though, they acknowledge that there is a problem! Two days later:I've been referred to the head technician at HP and he also (remotely) cannot get my PC to install it successfully.I've therefore now spoken to the company I always use for all my PC needs/servicing etc. They have looked at the situation remotely and my PC has been corrupted in some way by the software supplied with the MFP M125nw. They are coming out to look at my PC and see if they can repair things and install the new printer - it'll cost me £100 for the call-out charge (but I have no option because HP will not/cannot resolve this). HP are to speak to my computer service company when they come out next week. I therefore have no printer (or scanner) for 4 or 5 days to come....Another 4 days later:My own tech company have now been out and for 2 - 3 hours has spoken to the head technician at HP and between them they've eventually got the new printer installed. WHAT A NIGHTMARE! Still, it now seems to be up and running OK. HP have said I can send them the bill for £100 call-out charge for consideration. I quote: "I will forward your request to the CRT team. I am not setting you any expectation but I hope something will done about this". So do I!!!3 weeks later:I've heard nothing back from HP's CRT Team regarding the £100 call-out charge being reimbursed by HP. The head technician is not now responding to my email asking how I can please speak to their CRT Team direct to find out what's happening....I've pretty much given up - but there should be government health warnings for all computers with this HP printer/scanner.NB My previous printer is a HP LaserJet 6P and I've had it for around 20 years!! It still works superbly. It must've produced in excess of 30,000 prints since purchase. That's why I bought HP again this time. The only reason I bought the new one is that I need a new scanner and this HP is both printer and scanner in one. BUT it's cost me £100 call-out charge to have it installed "professionally" because HPs drivers are faulty. I was without any printer (or scanner) for around 5 or 6 days in total - and my PC was doing "odd" things while the whole experience was unfolding. I'm HORRIFIED and fed up, particularly as HP accept that the drivers are at fault - but now won't respond to my courteous emails/tel calls asking them for assistance and for them to settle the £100 call-out charge I've had to pay.I WILL NEVER BY AN HP PRODUCT EVER AGAIN.
