Outstanding Device!
After reading and hearing for years that it impossible or dangerous to safely recharge most batteries, I was skeptical about this device when I ordered it, but because I go through a lot of 'non-rechargeable' batteries every year in electronic devices such as game cameras (8-16 per camera), I decided to give the Viatec RE04-g a try.I can tell you without any reservations that this charger is an absolute success! It will handle many types and sizes of battery, and it charges them quickly. And from initial results, it appears that the charge is long-lasting.This machine will pay for itself in the first 6 months, and after that my savings will continue every time I use it.

DO NOT BUY THIS CHARGER
Buyer beware! This Viatek Renu-it does not work at all. I had it for 5 months and tried to charge 20 or more batteries (A, AA, C, & D) and not a one re-charged. If you are thinking of buying this battery charger DO NOT BUY THIS ONE. I wasted $30.00 plus on this and have since thrown it away.

If you go through alkaline batteries this is a must-have. Makes a great gift to parents of small children.
I have to use a couple of medical devices that go through batteries like the designer made royalties on them. This recharger, which can bring a used alkaline battery back up to, quite literally, better than new, is the only thing that allowed me to afford those devices. I liked it so much I gave one as a holiday gift to a friend who's in his 50s but suddenly a parent of a 3-year-old. I figure it will save him well over a thousand dollars over the next three years. Yes, it's that good!

I like this recharger
However, I thought this recharger would discharge and recharge my regular batteries. But it does not do that. So when it does charge up the batteries, they do not get a full refreshed recharge. Therefore, they are not charged as strongly and sometimes will not receive a full charge and do not work as long as a fully refreshed and recharged battery should.Their much smaller unit called by the same name worked much better at doing the above. But it took days to do it. But once the battery was refreshed and then recharged, the charge was very strong and the battery lasted a lot longer. So I am a little disappointed that their bigger product does not charge as well as their smaller unit, Renu-It, could refresh/recharge. The one thing I did not like about the smaller unit, also, was it did not have a digital display to let you know how far the process had left to complete the full refresh/recharge. So I just had to keep on checking back until the light turned red which meant to take the battery out. But that was a small issue compared to how well that smaller unit charged up those dead batteries. I saved a lot of money on batteries. But in time the unit's door brook off and then it didn't work as well. But I used it for about 3 years. So I like the original Renu-It unit better than this newer and bigger one.

Recharged batteries do not hold a charge for long
This product does recharge most of the batteries I tried but the charge is very weak and only lasts a very short time compared to a new battery. For me it was not worth the effort. By the time I found out the charge was so weak I had passed the 30 day return period and the manufacturer would not take the product back. Very disappointed and out $50.

Love this, recharges alkaline batteries in hours
Love this, recharges alkaline batteries in hours. about 1 for AAA, 6-8 for D size. I also use it to recharge my Eneloop batteries and it does a great job. Please note that recharged alkaline batteries never get to 100% of original capacity but about 80-85%. So high drain devices like an electric shavers I have never gets the current needed but for flashlights and portable media players the recharges do work just fine. Use the new Energizer Max alkaline because they are guaranteed against leaks, of course they are not guaranteed if you recharge them but they are a whole lot less likely to leak than normal batteries. In fact, I've never seen one leak...Duracell has something equivalent but I've never tried them.So far, I'm at about 15 recharges on my flashlight batteries and they still are a bright as a fresh set of alkaline batteries after a recharge. It even recharges 9v batteries and I've had good success with those as well.

Horrible
It was supposed to be new and the box had been opened . Not to mention the box was damaged and in horrible condition . There's no instructions and it's missing the iPhone and iPad chargers .
