Maxwell house is the cheapest per pound right now of all the brands. This one is not the cheap stuff. You know there's differences in coffee beans on where and how they're grown. The biggest difference is which beans are selected and put into groups and how long the selections are roasted. The colombian flavor is the best there is. Worth the extra buck.

Maxwell House coffee is a good coffee at a good price. Tastes great and gives you that little kick you need to start your day.

I was pleasantly surprised to try this and found that I could not tell the difference from my higher end brand that I usually buy. It's not as good as fresh ground from beans, but it is equivalent to many higher end pre-ground dark roasts on the market. I mostly use this for cold brewed iced coffee and it is rich and smooth tasting, without any bitterness.
