Extreme Max 3005.3846 Universal Mount Aluminum Dock Stair - 6-Step

These are wonderful dock stairs. I was worried that they wouldn't come with stainless steel nuts and bolts, but they not only came with stainless steel hardware, all of the nuts were also nylon insert locknuts. One of the best things about these stairs is that there are no sharp edges to the aluminum. In particular, the extrusions used for the steps are comfortable and non-slip on the top, but also the lower edges have a nice radius on them, so they aren't sharp at all. They also don't use up any space on the dock, since they perch on the edge of the dock, and don't stick into the passage at all. The railings are also surprisingly both sturdy and are a nice round tube for gripping. They went together with no problems, and overall it is lighter than I was expecting, while still being heavy enough to handle large waves. No shifting or any problems in storms with high winds and large waves (at least large waves for inland lakes). They seem truly solid and capable of handling a large load. We walk up and down them like stairs - face first. You don't have to back down them like a ladder. The other reviewers weren't wrong about the box -- when we got ours the box had all but disintegrated, in part due to shipping, and in part because the delivery people left it out in the rain. But the internal components were packaged well enough that there was no damage to anything inside. These certainly aren't the cheapest stairs on the market, but we are very glad we went for these. We couldn't be happier with them.

I have suffered for three years without dock stairs. I’ve been climbing in and out of the water on cement bricks. We ordered the stairs and they are fabulous. They were super easy to install and we used them without even installing the bolts. The bolts are now installed though. They were not included but were only a few dollars at the hardware store It was easy to level it. It’s very wide. It’s nice to have a handrail on both sides. My kids can get in and out of the water easy and I don’t worry about anybody slipping or falling. I wanted to get your product that has the wider step treads but it was on back order so I settled for the five step thinner steps with the double handrails. I have to say I’m not disappointed not having the wider treads as it really didn’t matter. I would recommend this product to anybody. it is not cheaply made and there are no rough edges. It’s very well constructed and built, and I wish I had purchased this three years prior. You can’t go wrong with this product.

Good construction. Very sturdy. I got this for my hot tub because my brother is a really big dude. He's able to get in and out with this and it handles his weight like a champ.

These stairs are excellent construction and value. Solid, sturdy, lightweight, great value-similar one sells for double at lake businesses. All parts were included, hardware came in a Ziplock bag, while the stairs and handles were separately wrapped . Including photo of box as was heavily damaged in transit-huge holes in top and sides- but no damage to product and parts all there. There was some scratching on the handles but I wasn't about to send back on account of that. Fairly easy assembly, of course instructions are all in drawings. Lightweight and easy to adjust in the water. As the seller stated, hardware to mount on your dock is NOT included due to dock variations, completely understandable. I wanted to note on weight capacity, on the box and in the listing it says 500 pound capacity, on the label on the product it says ladder capacity 300 pounds. Maybe referring to runner weight capacity, not sure. But stairs are very stable, hardware heavy duty which impressed my husband. I upgraded from a pool ladder to this for entering and exiting our lake. Well worth every penny for safety and stability. Thank you Extreme Max for pricing this product to meet most price ranges.

The stair worked great for our dock installation. Perfect height and adjustability, nice low rise on the stair (I’m having knee surgery and my partner a hip replacement- and no, we’re not ancient lol). Easy lake access. BUT. Two different parts had the holes drilled incorrectly. Not a little off, but two inches off!! Bad MFG quality control. The other parts were correct and assembled easily. It was easier for us to redrill it ourselves than work with customer service to replace the parts (with the risk of them being wrong again). Once we drilled them out, it was great. Would recommend but for the price paid, they should have better oversight

Do not buy this ladder!!! This is supposed to be used on a dock where kids play. I walked down the steps and sliced My finger wide open on the hand rail. Upon inspection I realized the entire thing was like knife. Every part has very sharp edges. One of my grand kids has gotten cut already before I did. This thing is a nightmare and came out of the water immediately. Do not buy this if you don’t want to get hurt.

These dock stairs are great for getting in and out the water for older folks like us. Very sturdy, easy to assemble, and mount, and high quality aluminum components and stainless steel fasteners. The only downside is they need to sell a model with more adjust-ability for deeper water. I had to assemble them at max height and then create a mounting spot one step down from the dock, as well as manufacturing an additional step myself on the vertical bottom posts, because my dock ends in water deeper than these stairs are designed for. I could have put the stairs on the side of the dock in shallower water, but I wanted them at the deep end of the dock, which ends in sand instead of rocks in the shallower water. If they would sell longer legs as an extra accessory, and an additional step or two that would mount to those accessory legs, it would be a help for those with deeper water docks. These are a still big improvement over our old vertical dock ladder that did not go all the way to the lake bottom. As they are now, they are still a great value for the money, and we're very pleased with these stairs.

Very happy with this product. We have a trail down to the water and large rock flat just under the water. However the transition between them is tricky/unsafe with loose rocks and erosion. The stairs worked out well.

What surprised how strong this was. Went together easy. Best purchased this summer to get in and out of the lake.
