Great for "builder" minded kids (obviously. Emphasis intended)
Got this for our 5yo autistic spectrum ADHD son who loves Legos and anything involving manipulation of parts of a whole or whatever. He enjoys figuring this out. It requires more than just sticking Legos together. It involves twisting and trial/error, critical mechanical thinking. I also like that it's wood, not plastic. I also appreciate that this is a "genuine" M&D brand product, you can be relatively reassured for material safety and quality. I've had no issues. I do with the wood was more "finished" or glazed to aid in cleaning but other than that it's fine and seems like it'll hold up for his younger sisters. It's also fun to watch two or more of them fiddle with all the bits, snatching the finished pieces from brother, tantrums over nonsense. But yes, if your kid loves putting stuff together or likes identifiable categories of numerical stuff then s/he will probably find some use out of this at least.

Let’s build!
It’s a timeless toy. Good for fine motor skills. There are endless configuration to be built. The limit is your imagination. Depending on the age of the child it is a toy that an adult initially may want to show what can be done with the many pieces. Also, I believe it’s one that may sit until a rainy day, quiet play day, or until imaginative play requires some object to be build.Nicely made. Sturdy pieces. All the pieces fit back in the box for storage. Although, it does not have a lid to keep the pieces securely in the box.

Kids love it. very good quality.
This is the small version of an activity my grandson greatly enjoyed at the Children's Museum. He loved building with the boards and nuts and bolts.I was delighted to see this home version and bought it immediately. My grandson went right to work once he saw the kit, and I know it will provide hours of play time.Quality is good, number of pieces adequate for building things. Very affordable. I recommend as a gift for young boy or girl.

Cute but needs an imagination
Not for the very young. More for 5yrs old and up. You can build things but they need to creative. Not so easy for the little kids.

Wonderful wooden toy!
Wonderful! Gave this to my son for his third birthday (along with a wooden work bench and tools). He was SO excited to open the package and start stacking and creating right away! Perfect for a little one who love to build! I have found no issues with quality. It's basic, painted wooden blocks and screws - there will be minor "imperfections" or differences from piece to piece, but this is not surprising to me as this is wood, not molded plastic. Perfect for what I wanted!

Adorable set
What a fun product for my toddler. Some of the pieces are a bit hard to assemble—the wood doesn’t always lign up easily. That being said it is a super fun bin of loose parts.

Not compatible with the workbench kits
These are very well madeEXCEPT, the screw diameters and threading does not match the kit sold with the workbenchNice toys, but they do not work well together. Unfortunate design flaw that limits the value of the building setLove Melissa and Doug, so was surprised to have this problem
