If it was a Digital8 model (a sony “DCR” series camcorder), then the tapes will not playback on the CCD model Hi8 camcorder - you would need a DCR model instead. Camera works well

Bought the camera to play some old Hi8 tapes but it works so well I've been utilizing it to video some current events. It's old technology but the video and audio are pretty good. The camera works well even with reduced lighting.

Didn't Work!

I had high hopes for this as I wanted to use it to copy some old homemade videos. I was badly disappointed when it didn't work and the battery was so old it would only last a few seconds. Just pay a professional to transfer your videos and be done with it. Sometimes trying to save money just doesn't work. Like this video camera.

Camera worked for my 8mm tapes
