Sizzix, Holiday Words Thinlits Die Set , Script by Tim Holtz, 17 Pack, Multi Color, One Size

What can I say, I have never met a Tim Holtz product I didn't love! If you plan on making Christmas/winter cards or love scrapbooking, even mixed media Christmas projects, you can't go wrong with these. I just got these yesterday and couldn't wait to try them. They turn out beautifully. I used in my Cuttlebug, every Cuttlebug is different I'm told, so follow instructions but this was the sandwich that worked best for me: (starting at bottom) A Plate, Rubber Mat, B Plate (that I cut on, I always keep one B Plate for bottom and don't cut on it - it runs through machine better), material-face up, Die, face down (use low tack masking tape to tape in place), B Plate (no cut), then I either added a piece of cardstock or a piece of medium weight chipboard on top. As instructions say, run through three times. As long as I did that they popped out perfectly. I did not see a need for the waxed paper or bounce sheet often used to help dies release. You may not need the cardstock or chipboard, and with me sometimes I used one, then the other, it depends, you'll know not to force anything through, as to not break your CBug.You won't regret this purchase, unless you are looking for large words, but these, although are small will make a Hugh impact even on a 12 x 12 scrapbook page and are terrific on cards, tags, etc. Use a glue pen because they are very narrow, it will make the application much easier. By the way, it kind of cuts and embossed at the same time, they look a little puffy, really nice. A tip: if you lay your word(s) out right you can use your negative piece too, put a color behind it or foil cardstock, or distress ink a piece of paper to match your ink color and place behind it, then you can add a frame or whatever too if desired.

I love these!!! I have never had a problem with Sizzix dies and these are no exception. They cut beautifully and come of the die nicely. I read someone's review that said the dies bent and that is not true. I read that they are difficult to get out of the die and that is also not true. I think those people don't know how to use them. I also love the size....they are a little bigger than I expected but that made them even more perfect. I love that it has all the holiday words I will need.....no need to for another word die set.....well except for the Celebration Words die set (also a Tim Holtz set from Sizzix) which I got for words for birthdays and thank you and anniversary, etc. With both of these sets I will have everything covered. So if you are a cardmaker or scrapbooker this set is a must have.

I love scrapbooking and I am new to card making. I purchased these die cuts to add sentiments to my cards. The size of the words is right for scrapbook and cards. The font style of the words is script and I can say it looks elegant. The cuttings from these dies are very delicate, but behind each one there are small holes that allows you to push the cut material for easily removal. They come in a sturdy envelope with a closure where you can keep them from getting lost. It may be difficult to recognize the words, but you can write with a permanent marker and fine point behind each die the corresponding word. The sentiments included in this set can be combined to express the greetings in various ways. The price on die cuts is really good compared to the craft store's prices . It's a good addition to my craft stock. You should give it a try.

Great for card making

these are the first thinlits dies I have ever purchased/used. I absolutely love them. they cut perfectly and the font is beautiful. they come in a little plastic envelope for storage which is really nice. but if you are anything like me you might want to just pop them into a Ziploc instead. I walked mine from the kitchen to the livingroom to show my husband and lost a die in the process :( they do slide out of the envelope if you aren't careful. but I did find it so all is well! :) and even though these are Christmas/holiday words I am already seeing that so many can be used for other occasions or just as sentiments on everyday cards. if you are thinking of getting these dies I say do it! happy crafting! <3
