Belle Poque Steampunk Gothic Victorian Ruffled Dress Sleeveless

I absolutely LOVE this dress! I work in an outdoor museum that is a ghost town museum and dress like it’s the 1800’s and had to get this as it’s perfect for both my work, going out, and normal life! It isn’t restrictive at all! I lost over 200 lbs and often have issues with short sleeves like this but I had bought this in black about 2 years ago for a masquerade party in New Orleans. I received many compliments and I felt pretty in it! So, working at the museum now where I need to dress mid to late 1800’s, I thought this is in red would be perfect! The red is vibrant and it’s very detailed with lace trim, a corset tie in the back etc. i also love that it allows to be cinched fairly high in the front with hidden ribbons on the underskirt. I just added an underbust harness corset and a 3 ring hoop skirt to wear under. Oh my goodness!,dare I say I love the red more than the black? I received so many compliments! Tourists were wanting to take photos with me. Great fun and not to mention I can dress it down with a pair of combat boots and waist belt or something :) oh! I mentioned the weight loss because when ya lose that much from being that heavy, that gobs of loose skin on the upper arms making sleeves like this with elastic tight and painful. Well, I’ve YET to have that issue with Belle Poque clothing. It works for masquerading, for gothic wear, to saloon girl in 1875, this dress works for all occasions. And definitely use Belle Poque’s sizing and NOT Amazon’s!

I ordered this dress based on the reviews. I wear a 40DDD & measure about 50in in bust & 45 in waist. I usually wear an XL or 2X. Based on the size chart, both XL & 2X are too small, but I purchased one of each based on reviews that it runs large in the chest area.The XL was slightly too tight in the chest. There’s not much stretch in that area. But the 2X fit perfectly! You can tighten the “corset” section to make it more tight fitting. I may get something sturdier to replace the ribbon because it feels a little flimsy. I’m 4’11 and was afraid it would be too long, but length wise it lands at about my ankles.Overall, I’m very satisfied with the dress and can’t wait to wear it to the Ren Faire!

Bought for Halloween costume and a space pirate murder mystery party. Love the color! I wore the cardigan bc I’m self conscious of my upper arms. The dress fit perfectly up top, felt flattering, and I could adjust the sides (cinch up or loosen) which was great.Not stretchy, pretty form-fitting. I ordered 2XL. I’m a 42C but I also have a wide back/shoulders. If I was any bigger, I would size up.

I wasn't expecting much for 35 bucks, but I'm pleasantly surprised. This dress fits well on it's own, and can be tightened or loosened if needed. I'm 5'6 125 , and the S fit perfectly.

Really love this dress. I am usually a size 14 with a 38D bust. I got an XL and it fits my chest nicely. A lot of times things that fit my bust are to large around my waist. This dress has adjustable lacing in the back for a perfect fit.

I finally found a garment I can use as a costume attire and regular. Advertised as steampunk and it delivers on every level! Beautiful dress with enough room to customize to a steampunk outfit. Itvlook a bright red on screen and I ordered it even though I was eyeing the wine red. Reviews mentioned it looked more brownish and so I went for the bright red. It has tints of fuschia but looks so pretty. I know a thing or two about dress making and will say this is a very well made dress. Lot of thought put into style and measurements which translates as customer satisfaction. I hope more merchants here make it a point to specify size accurately like this merchant has. Little time and thought spent here go a long way at the customer's end. order often on Amazon and never really had a problem with quality, at least with garments. It has always been the confusing sizing. Very pleased.

I bought this dress to use as part of my steampunk costume. According to the size chart, the waist measurement for a medium is 28-29 inches, and my waist is 30 inches, so I was on the fence about whether to order a medium or a large. I ended up going with a medium, and it fits great and isn't too tight. Don't forget to use the zipper on the side to get in and out of the dress. It's easy to overlook it, as it blends in very well. The dress is well made and the material is comfortable. When it first arrived, my only concern was that the color seemed darker and more brownish than I'd expected. I ordered the wine color, and my dress looked a bit too maroon. However, once I saw the color outside, the sunlight seemed to brighten it up and made it look more like the stock photo's coloration. The photos I posted make it look a little brighter than it actually looks in person, so just be aware of the fact that the true color is slightly darker. Overall, I'm extremely happy with my purchase.
