All germinated!

I received 11 seeds. They all germinated! However, they are a tough plant to maintain properly for a newbie (as I am). I still have 8 plants that are flourishing. However, honestly they seem to be doing better under an artificial light, than outdoors, which in Houston, we are in prime growing season right now. They are extremely slow growing, compared to my other pepper plants - scorpion, ghosts, habaneros, etc. So I don't expect fruiting for several months, based on the growth rate I have seen so far, unless they really go through a growth spurt soon All-in-all, the seeds will germinate and it is then up to the grower to know what he is doing.

They wouldn't sprout

My light of been a bad set of seeds but none grew.

These work, they grow well, and they are indeed hot- and yes, possibly the hottest.

Not only did these all sprout (ok... like 99.9% germination) in simple starter trays, I can easily say these are the hottest peppers we have grown. We washed our mouths out with reaper's to dilute the heat -no joke. Chocolate Bhutlah don't test consistent on the scoville scale, so the average rating leaves them below reapers and that new one (which I Haven't tried), but these specific plants from this seller - are just awesome. I was able to mix down a sauce after a few attempts that leaves you licking your fingers uncontrollably, while feeling the effects of napalm - which was my goal. They fruited very well, and I took all down to the three biggest plants, which have been producing like crazy. A little care, maybe a bit of research if you're new to planting any kind of seeds, and you cant go wrong. (the attached pic is these, mixed down with scotch bonnets and jamaican yellows- don't touch your face while eating anything with this on it - but you wont stop eating the thing - awesome)

the plastic cover of the pan made a great greenhouse for the seeds

I bought one of those foil cake pans with the clear cover at the grocery store and started the seeds in peat pots in the tray and put it in a sunny window. I also put the tray on a heating pad for the first week or so to help to warm the soil. the plastic cover of the pan made a great greenhouse for the seeds. 7 of the 9 seeds germinated. So far so good. They look very healthy and happy.

Germination time is longer than expected

6 out of 10 seed planted germinated and growing. I highly suggest a warmer to help them germinate.

2 of 11 seeds sprouted, 1 survived

2 of the 11 seeds I received sprouted within a week, the remaining 9 have yet to show signs of life after 30+ days.Update, the one seedling that survived turned out to be a red bhutlah, very slow to germinate, establish, & fruit. overall the plant is very healthy, with extremely broad leaves. granted it's not a stable variety, hence the probability of what you get is not guaranteed. I have a bush full of red bhutlah's, so I can't complain about the health of the strain; was hoping to have at least one chocolate bhutlah from the "seed lottery".

Not of the chocolate variety.

Very disappointed. I specifically wanted to grow the chocolate variety this year. Not one of the plants produced the advertised variety. I’m sure they are ghost peppers but not what I paid for. Not purchasing from this vendor again.
