Arrived quickly and in excellent condition. Using to update and restock my Red Cross Survival Backpack. Individually wrapped and rugged for carrying in a backpack. Much less expensive than LED emergency roadside lights.

So... this being my first experience with a flare, I had the bright idea of gently grazing the included strike surface with the flare inside my room. It immediately went from a small red spark to a full flare.I tried crushing it on the tile floor (see images) to no avail.I then sprinted to the bathroom, slightly filled the sink, and tried smothering it there. No go; the water around it actually started boiling instead, as the flare shot out under the water. The sink is now permanently burnt (see images).Finally, I flung open a window and tossed it out onto the dew - covered grass. I ran around to the door, and back toward the yard, where the flare had begun to catch some of the wet grass on fire. I forced the flare into the wet dirt, and after about 3 seconds of twisting the flame was finally smothered. For the following minute or two it continued to smoke heavily, and some embers kept reigniting.Once the flare was completely caked with mud, it slowly stopped smoking. Now the tile has a noticeable burn mark even after cleaning, if you look close enough... so even if you're in the Amazon jungle during a monsoon, this thing will definitely get you spotted. Now worries about the monsoon, this thing will just boil all the water that rains unto it. Damn.

I like the fact there are 2 flares and a small chemlight in the package and the wax coating protects the flares from the elements.

After careful deliberation, I’ve concluded these flares are the best option. They are the brighter than the chemical type glow light flares and they don’t need recharging like the battery type. They are easy to light and ready when you need then. I bought a three pack for each of our vehicles.

Had this handy for long drives or emergency use during the rain. I personally have used flares before on road trips. Last time I used one was when I traveled to Michigan, visiting friends and family, along the way, I had blown out tire in the middle of the night on the major interstate highways. So I lit two flares up, a couple of feet in front and back of my car, because the shoulder area of highway was not well lighted and to alert motorist passing by. I believe most state laws require for vehicles to shift a lane away to the right as a precaution to avoid accidents of rear-ending the stranded drivers on the shoulder of the highway. Would recommend as must have item on camping trip as well.

Ordered after listening to a security expert state that in times of big crowd madness these are what government agents use to get through a crowd fast. I ordered 2 three packs for my vehicles. For problems and or accidents etc. They burn for 30 minutes. Remember to buy gloves if using for crowd control 🤔Recommend 👍

I used to like the tree squirrels back near Chicago, but these California ground squirrels are a BIG pain !!! - they dig out big holes in the ground, make babies, and dig more holes - ground squirrel poison works on some, but not all - these road flares are like magic - bring a hoe or shovel with you and something to further shove the flare into the hole - light it and shove it in the hole - it will burn for at least 10 minutes putting out noxious fumes, bury completely with the dirt they have dug out - if there is more than one entrance, cover all but the one you will treat - you just took out the entire nest !!!!!!!!!!

Buy these and throw them in the trunk with the spare tire. Never knew how important flares are till I had a flat out on 4 lane highway…I felt safer lighting a flare 30-40 yards from the car. Gives drivers a very bright signal to be alert. But still some knuckleheads…
