PILOTFountain Pen Ink Converter CON-40 Screw Type (CON-40) 4 set

I have several fountain pens with differnt colors of ink. This works great for converting the Pilot pen.

I already had a con-40 on my Metropolitan, but when I realized it also fit Pilot parallel pens, I had to get a set of four!Arrived well packaged. I bought this mainly to use with my parallel pens because I wanted to use ink from a different brand. The twist mechanism makes it easy to siphon ink from my inkwells and wets the tip so my pen’s ready for use immediately.This probably holds half the ink the cartridge can store so you’ll probably need to refill more, but the convenience of the converter’s twist mechanism vs having to syringe ink into an empty cartridge (or the added risk of spillage if you convert your pen to an eye dropper pen) is worth it!

These are the perfect converters for my pilot vanishing point decimo. No hassle with them. They do not hold as much ink unless you’re injecting some into the converter. I like changing out ink colors quite often so this works out just fine for me.

This converter is used for every Pilot Vanishing Point pen. Wish it had a screw-in option rather then just push it on.

This is a four pack of CON-40’s — to be clear, these are made to fit a wide selection of Pilot fountain pens (not ballpoint! There is a picture of a fountain pen on the back of each little package). It fits perfectly in my Metropolitan.Unlike most converters I’ve seen, these have little ball-bearings inside to agitate the ink. It’s not necessary with the very wet black ink I currently use, but this feature will allow me to use shimmer inks with my Metro F without worrying as much about the potential for glitter to clog the nib.I deducted a star because I cannot get them to fill more than half way when used as intended.However, this problem can be solved pretty easily by filling the unscrewed converter with a blunt-tip syringe. Fill nearly to the top while keeping the open end up & push the clean nib section down onto it to avoid too much of a mess.This isn’t a huge problem, but it’s worth mentioning that these unfortunately cannot be stored full of ink outside of a pen because they don’t have a seal like some other converters. Just be prepared to do a full refill if you want to switch the color of ink in your pen.Overall, I’d estimate the CON-40’s hold maybe 150% of the ink capacity of the squeeze converter when filled completely. So if your goal is to extend the life of each refill, these are good to have (as long as you’ve got a syringe).

I ordered this particular item because it was a 4-pack of Pilot Con-40 converters for $14. This is a good price, too good to be true. Three of the four converters were cracked and unusable. I decided to return the order and chalked it up as a fluke or damage in transit. They were packaged in an envelope with each converter in a plastic sleeve. My order was place and shipped but then lost in transit. I decided to return the item instead. I am wary of this particular seller (NOT Pilot).

The only thing I wish was better, tho warned about it, is the converter held more ink. Out side of that I think it is a fine part of the pen, I have 3 of the 4 I bought in pens, the 4th is a spare.
