Spigen Ultra Hybrid Designed for iPhone Xs MAX Case (2018) - Crystal Clear

Had thick black cases for years, but this clear one makes getting to button so much easier

I love Spigen’s value for the price! There are few inexpensive cases I would trust to put my phone in. I use to use their Tough Armor cases until I got the plus version of the iPhone - the phone and all of that case was way to big for me to hold or put into a pocket/purse.ProsThis case is low profile, feels like a well constructed case, and the clear version shows of your iPhone nicely. It barely feels like a case is on your phone.There is enough protection around the perimeter of screen and rear facing camera so you can put it on a flat surface and not worry about scratches. The small edges on the rear avoid that teeter that occurs because of the protruding rear camera.ZAGG’s invisible tempered glass screen fits inside the inner edge of the case nicely!I was afraid the CLEAR case would be extremely slippery to hold. I watched YouTube reviews and people mentioned it felt like hard plastic cases do. But IMHO it has just enough clear-gel-case feel to provide enough grip to hold you phone but it isn’t like the silcone cases that are difficult to get into tight pockets. It doesn’t attract dust or fluff. Still easily slips in and out of pockets.From the YouTube reviews it isn’t suppose to yellow! But it is cheap enough that if it does you can buy another one :)The consEven though it is low profile there is still too much at the bottom - unable to leave in case and dock to charge or play music on iHome. (Yes I am aware of the wireless charging pads and Bluetooth speakers 😝)You have to wipe off finger prints and skin oils relatively often.Pro and con - the case is kinda difficult to get on and off. This is good because the case isn’t going to fly off of you drop your case and it doesn’t seem like it will let in too much dust. Highly recommend a body film/back protector as these type of cases usually leave your device with micro scratches and dulls the finish off the back of the case. There are holes in the corners. Worried that if you take it offrelstively often (I remove cases to clean my devices) it will scratch the corners.I’ll also add I am not typically one that drops their phone often ... almost never. Do your research and if you’re looking for something with super protection abilities you might what something else. Caution with Otterbox - A child threw my device in their defender series and the screen shattered and Otterbox would not cover it. I had a receipt and everything.

i'm writing a review now because i went back to this page to buy a new case and saw that amazon told me i first purchased it exactly 2 YEARS ago. i've been using spigen since my first iphone which was the 5s, always my trusted go to brand for cases and screen protectors. not once did my screens or phones ever break with these spigen protections. i've only ever upgraded my phones.i really did not realize i've had this on for a WHOLE 2 YEARS, the spigen screen protector i bought came in a 2 pack, and i have yet to put on the 2nd on all this time, because it's never gone bad.i can't tell you how much trust i have in spigen cases because really whenever i drop my phone from bed height, from hip height, from hands height, i never went "OMG" and was panicked, i'd just have trust and be like "it's fine" and it really never broke in any way for me. the most i've gotten was very thin barely noticeable lines in my screen protector but that's it.i went back to this page now, because i wanna buy a new case because of course the sides have darken, from it's original crystal clear form. the back is still clear though, it's just the sides that darkened.only had this thought to get a new case, because i was thinking of upgrading to the 12 but i'll wait, so i just wanted to at least refresh my case

This clear iPhone case just arrived today, so I can’t comment on the durability of it. I know a lot of clear cases yellow over time, so I will update this review if required. The first thing I noticed about this case is that it attracts finger prints like crazy. I’m sure this is common to most clear cases. This is my first one, so I can’t say for sure. I wanted something that shows off the natural design of my iPhone XS max, and this case seems to do it fine. As for the drop protection, it seems less durable than my previous “slim design” case, but I am not the type of person that drops my phone or commonly cracks my screen. I would not recommend this for clumsy people or if you let your kids play with your phone. I also have a glass screen protector for additional protection which fits perfectly with this case. All the speaker outlets and charging connections are perfectly accessible in this case. There’s a lot of options for clear cases on amazon. I just happened to choose this one, and so far so good

I can confirm that they have updated this case. The speaker holes used to be the same size on either side, but they now conform with the design of the iphone xs max. As for the guy that said you can't remove it once it's on; I made the same mistake, except I forgot to put my SIM card in. I will agree that it is difficult to get this case off, but definitely not impossible. You have to gently pry it off (I was able to use my hands) along the edges. It took a minute or two but oh well, it was easy to get back on.I bought this case because I wanted a really basic case that would adequately protect my phone from minor falls, scratches, scuffs, stuff that happens from basic use. I also wanted something that was sized as accurately as possible for the price. In those areas this case definitely does exactly what I want it to do which is why this gets 5 stars.THAT BEING SAID, if you want a lot of protection, this thing isn't going to get you there. I'd give it a 2.5/10 on shock absorption. This is a low profile case that will protect your phone from stuff like scratches, scuffs, bumps, the occasional drop off an end-table or falling on the ground when you get out of a car. Anything more severe than that, and you're probably going to have a bad time.
