A case that does it’s job
I’m going to preface this review with the fact that I think a case should include a screen protector, period. That’s really the most vulnerable part of your phone.I bought this case after getting my iPhone XS Max. I was shocked that Otterbox no longer provides a screen protector for its venerable Defender series. Come on, Otterbox. You’re selling protection for a phone that costs as much as a laptop, and no screen protector??? Yeah yeah, you can get a separate piece of glass but I didn’t want to have to go through that entire process of doing all the steps to apply the glass to your screen and then add the case. This case is made up of two parts. A smaller piece made up of the screen protector and some rigid plastic frame that the screen protector is attached to. And a larger more rubberized frame that snaps over the screen protector frame that has a cutout for the camera and a large clear plastic panel to show off your Apple logo. The phone fits snugly against the screen protector frame and then you fit the larger frame over it to protect the back. It’s pretty lightweight and has a reasonably slim for factor (as if that really matters too much for the iPhone XS Max). I’ve drop my phone a few times. No damage. It offers pretty good protection and some ease of mind. I’m sure I’m not going to be able to run my car over it like someone I know did with an Otterbox Defender in its tank-like heyday. The buttons and cutouts seem to match up pretty well. And you know what? I like the convenience and opening up my case. Spritz some lens cleaner over my phone and the case and have a nice clean case rather than have sticky crap wedge under the margins of your “ballistic glass”. I have Apple Care Plus. Thank goodness I had to only fork out $99 to get a replacement iPhone XSMax when I totally crushed the Gorilla Glass. Was it with this case? No. It was with a case that I had to apply the ballistic glass screen protector. This case has never let me down.

I dropped it from 4ft onto a metal spike. It survived
Okay, when i first got this case i slightly hated the ascetic, but after my first time dropping my phone...literally ever. I have never dropped any phone i have had until today. My phone fell of a table, and as it fell the screen went head first into a mic stand pointed like a screw. It stabbed the front of the phone screen, then slide off to the ground laying face down. I knew at that moment no screen protector could have saved that phone from getting cracked. So i leaned over to pick it up expecting disaster and sure enough......The screen protector had ripped open and tore to the side with a good ripple to it. I was glad to see the screen was not absolutely shattered, and then i removed the case to find the real problem....And there was none. The screen looks absolutely brand new, not a flaw blemish or scuff. I wiped it off and was amazing that the screen protector somehow save my brand new iPhone XS Max.. I must say this is an amazing product that can protect your phone and all the while......make it look like an android. :| . Better to be looking like an android than broken to pieces, so i would recommend this. :)

Survives DAILY drops - 2 years and counting
I am petrified to take my phone out of this case to clean the inside because I literally drop it every day...multiple times.I run a restaurant and its online presence, often from the phone so I'm quickly pulling it from my back pocket to respond to a review or quickly order extra seafood on a busy night. I'll miss the pocket when trying to drop it back in and BAM...hits the quarry tile floor and just bounces a couple times. Worst thing that'll happen is the vibrate button will slide itself on. I've learned to check it every time. Some extra big crashes include the time I fell running down the attic stairs with the phone in my hand. Of course, I threw it to catch myself. Should have just held onto it because I ended up with a screw through my finger and eight stitches...phone was fine.Another time, it slipped out of my pocket on my motorcycle. I drive fast too. Took me a bit to go back and find it. But it still worked. The screen was intact, thankfully, but the glass on the back of the phone cracked somewhat. I'll reiterate that I DROPPED IT FROM A MOVING VEHICLE, so the crack is by no means the manufacturer's fault. I am very fortunate that was all it got.I've also purchased 4 phones for others and I won't even allow them to touch them until I install these cases.I'm here today after 2 years to buy another one because the case itself does get scratched and scuffed, but the phone screen is still perfectly shiny underneath. Wish me luck changing it.Unreal how many people use these phones without quality cases. If the phone was any smarter, it would buy itself one of these i-Blason cases.

Decent case for the price
I received a new iphone XS max for my birthday, and immediately knew I needed a case to protect it from myself! I wanted to try a case with a built in screen protector (I normally buy a stick on screen protector and case separately). I looked at lifeproof and otterbox, but couldn't get behind spending $70+ on a case. I saw this one and decided to give it a shot for a fraction of the price. So far so good. It protects the screen/phone from scratches and debris. The case isn't too difficult to snap on and off, but it requires enough effort that you know it won't just pop off on it's own. The overall protection and durability does appear a little cheaper than the popular brands like otterbox and lifeproof. I haven't dropped the phone yet, but I'm apprehensive as to the level of protection the case will provide. Otherwise, I'm pretty satisfied with the purchase given the price. The metallic pink color is very pretty, and goes well with the grey bumper. The back of the case is clear, so your phone color DOES show through.Bottom line, if you just need a case to protect from scratches and general wear and tear at a reasonable price, this is the case for you. If you are super rough with phones or have small children, it may be worth putting out extra money for a more durable case. This case is great for my purposes!
