It looks just like in the image, and really, what can go wrong with a butter dish?I should comment on the fit & finish. The Chinese sometimes can screw up even a basic product with fit and finish so crude that it actually effects the function of the product. No worries here, both fit & finish are excellent, as is expected in a piece like this.If you like the look of this from the stock photo, it is likely you will like the product itself.

This is an absolutely lovely butter dish. It's dishwasher safe, but I just hand wash it. By the time you get done breaking up butter in the sink, you may as well just rinse it and call it a day. My favorite Irish butter doesn't fit on here, but it's no big deal to cut it in half. Keeping smaller portions out on the table means I have the opportunity to wash the dish more frequently and prevents butter from becoming rancid. I love that this dish has a handle. I advise you not to get a dish without a handle. It can be very annoying. I highly recommend this dish.

This is a very high quality addition to my dinnerware. The size of the butter dish is ample and very useful.

I was looking for a butter dish that was both attractive and functional. This is both. Has an excellent knob that is secure to grab and easily remove the cover. Has plenty of room for a regular 1/4 lb stick plus a little room. Those with no knob are ridiculous! As one reviewer noted the dimensions are incorrect and should be fixed in the add. It is 7.2" long, 3.8" high (not the 5.8 in the description), and 4.1" wide.

As it is a Dansk it is a bit pricey but then it is a Dansk. Beautifully crafted. Exquisite form and function.

Looks great, fits a stick of butter and has a handle on the top. Exactly what I wanted!

The piece is very attractive and the quality of workmanship is very good. My objections are that it is twice as big as it needs to be to hold a quarter pound stick of butter. I guess that is because in many parts of the world, butter is packaged in larger pieces, at any rate it is better that it is too big rather than too small. My other objection is that the lid doesn't fit very tight and tends to rattle around.

This butter dish was quite easy to match my existing breakfast dishes. Simple ,sturdy & elegant .NS

A gift for my daughter who is very pleased w/it! Just as expected, simple design goes w/most dishes!
