Nice little bag, but...
This bag, though small, is quite nice when finished. The main materials provided are of good quality and are durable, as you would expect from Tandy. A few things to know: 1) The instructions are terrible with respect to stitching the pleats, be prepared to spend some time counting holes and figuring that out; 2) There are a lot of steps to preparing and finishing the leather (tooling, dyeing, edge finishing, top finishing, etc.) that are assumed before the instructions begin, but that should be completed before you even start assembling the bag ; 3) You're going to need more waxed thread -- it seems Tandy provided less than what was required and/or left no room for error; and 4) Because of the size and stiffness, turning that bag inside out was an exercise in frustration. You might want to loosely stitch the gussets, turn the bag, then tighten the stitching.In addition, the lace they included in my package was a crummy piece of spliced-together remnant (photo) from the factory floor that wouldn't fit through the hole and tore apart, so you might want to have leather lacing on hand. Tandy makes literally billions of yards of both the lacing and thread so there's really no excuse for being stingy like that.Customization: I added a grommet to each gusset so I could add a strap and turn it into a cross-body bag. for versatility.

Good beginner kit but …
Easy to assemble. Not as easy to find small quantities leather dye as I thought it would be and the leather isn’t colored. It’s smaller than I expected. Overall a very good bargain; if anything a little too easy to put together. Highly recommended as a beginner project.

Not easy to turn inside out and you run out of thread before you’re done

Not easy to assemble
The instructions for this item are very unclear and confusing. I have done kits like this before with no problem.. not so with this one. Also, they do not give you enough thread to finish the bag
