Polishing and Finishing for Jewellers and Silversmiths

This is a classic reference for silversmiths and jewelers. If you are interested in polishing already finished jewelry and silver flatware, it’s not the book for you. I am an amateur jewelry artisan and silversmith. For some reason, I started having trouble getting a nice final polish on my pieces. I bought the book so I could review the basics. I came to realize that it was probably the polishing buff at fault, but I picked up some useful tips along the way. Many new products have come on the scene since this was written, but it’s still good info.. Well presented and very readable.

I have worked with silver jewelry for over 30 years, and did not know polishing could be so sophisticated. I have some of the tools, and only learned to use them with the purchase of this amazing book. What a great addition to my library of jewelry making, and silversmithing.Absolutely fascinating to read and learn from. Highly recommended.

This book is from Great Britain and I'm confident the material is good. The problem is the names of the polishes and compounds are not translated to what is available in United States. I'm sure there are equivalent materials available here but I don't know what they are.
