Charcoal Companion Nonstick Sauce Pot with Silicone Head Basting Brush

Great little pot! I have now completely removed our microwave as this pot was the last piece needed. I found it well made and the perfect size for melting butter, heating a cup of coffee, heating sauces, etc.I was impressed with the weight of the piece as well. Not that it was heavy to lift but that it was substantially balanced and took the heat from the gas stove.I would purchase again if need be. Nice product.

Simply perfect and the brush makes it a better buy over competitors. The handle style is excellent, very smart and convenient, and eliminates messes. It is small but very hefty for its size and the handle shape gives you a solid grip with outstanding dexterity and excellent control especially when pouring.

Very thick and sturdy. You can see in the pic the comparison with a similar stainless steel piece that is small and easily toppled over. This one is heavy and much nicer. I put a liner of aluminum foil in it and put it in the grill with sauce or butter. Easy clean up.

This is a small heavy cast iron pot that is perfect for using on the grill to keep sauces warm while food cooks. I chose it over a comparable product from Lodge because the Lodge version seemed to have a small base, which would make it more susceptible to being knocked over when flipping and turning food. This pot is heavy and the base is almost as wide as the top. the handle is short but adequate so it can be picked up and moved but doesn't take up much room. I cook on a Big Green Egg so space is always at a premium. The silicone brush is nice as well but since the brush handle is plastic, I would not leave it on the pan while over the fire.I recommend seasoning this after you buy it and before using it. Seasoning is easy. Simply coat the entire pan inside and out with crisco, then place the pot upside down on an oven rack and bake for an hour at 350. To catch the crisco that runs off, put another pan or baking sheet lined with foil on the rack below. Of course, you could also place it in your grill coated with crisco and let that heat season it for the same length of time.Le Creuset makes a small enameled cast iron pot that could probably serve the same purpose but without a handle (and hence even less likely to be knocked over). But it was more expensive and didn't include the bonus brush. So overall, this pot was just right.

I've been looking for a smaller cast iron sauce pot for awhile now that was small enough to put in the corner of the grill and griddle to keep butter, BBQ sauce, oil, basting sauces, and mop sauce for the smoker. This fit the bill perfectly. It's big enough to hold a lot of liquid but doesn't eat up to much room on the cooking surface. It flares out nicely toward the top rim. The handle has a great scoop running the length in the middle to rest utensils on when not in use or to let them drain. Made out of a nice and heavy cast iron. I was actually surprised at the quality for the price and it came with a little silicone brush which was a bonus. Charcoal Companion has a winner.

This is a nice little cast iron pot! We have now used it many times, and is only getting better with age. The basting brush doesn't stand up to the heat well, but I usually put it on a little plate off to the side so that I can keep my sauce warm. Otherwise though, is of nice quality and is easy to clean. It seems like they should last (the pan much longer obviously).

Craftsmanship is lacking however for the price It's okay. The handle is shaped great for holding a brush, but very uncomfortable to grab with your bare hand, it doesn't help that the handle wasn't completely ground down smooth when casted so it left an uneven burr that makes handling even more uncomfortable because I have to grip firmly to maintain the weight of the pot which cuts into my fingers. I imagine one could either use an oven mitt or silicone hot handle to help with the lack of ergonomic design. Not worth it for me, returning.

It's a heavy little sucker, but great for the job. I like the handle and the way the brush lays on it. Very convenient and no dripping brush on the counter, or need to lay it anywhere except the handle where it drips back into the pan. The handle is left rough so it is grippy - nobody wants to drop the heavy guy on their feet with hot butter in it - so good it is grippy. The first I got one came in with a broken handle as it was shipped in a bubble bag. The second one made it in, even in a bubble bag. Still a box with air bags would be a much better way of shipping for this cast iron pot. I noticed I was not the only person whose came in with a. broken handle.

Mini pot is excellent. Brush handle got soft and now rests at a 45 degree angle. Possible my fault for leaving pot & brush on the smoker, as I was only cooking at 250f (121c). Still, thought it would be OK. Brush bristles were unaffected and still work fine. I actually like the way it's angled now.

Cast iron pan great for the bbq as it's very heavy and won't blow away in the wind. I use it for basting and sauces...love it
