Q: Why the sudden doubling in price? Yesterday this was less than $50. That is a rediculous price hike to happen so suddenly.

I think the 7lb bags aren't being sold in any stores anymore (at least not in my area) so maybe a price hike due these being the last of their kind ? lol This 4 pack of 7lb bags equals 28lbs total. As of November 2017, I can get a 3.5lb bag from Target.com for $6.29 per bag. It takes 8 of the 3.5lb bags at $6.29 each to get the 28lbs offered here, but for only $50.32 Target also has the "subscribe & save" option which saves you 5% and orders over $25 always ship free. I additionally save another 5% off by using my Target RedCard.

Q: I've read that most people change the pellets monthly? Doesn't the urine on the pellets cause them to smell before before that?

It varies. I have one Tom who urinates in one spot (or the wall). I change the pad once a week (2021pads). If I notice that there is one area of urine soaked pellets, then I scoop it out (like scoopable). I always scrub between pellet chanages.😻

Q: What is actually in this box: how many pads and how many bags of pellets???

(1) 7lb bag of pellets and (2) packs of pads that have (4) pads in each for a total of (8) pads.

Q: Is my math wrong when I see 6 packs of 3.5lbs = 21 lbs for $37, or 4 packs of 7lbs = 28lbs for $78? Twice the price for a tiny bit more?
