Design Toscano Marshgate Castle Dragon Electric Wall Sconce Light Fixture, Greystone

I bought the Design Toscano Castle Dragon Sconce, and I am beyond thrilled! The detailing is incredible, and it brings a dramatic, magical touch to the room. I paired two of them around a mirror, and the result is straight out of a fantasy novel. The lighting is soft but powerful enough for the space, and installation was easy. It’s now the highlight of the room—every guest is blown away by it. If you're a dragon lover or just want something truly unique, this is 100% worth it.

I went onto this purchase expecting to have to modify this light, but it ended up not being to bad to work with. I wasn't cool with having a cord dangling down to an outlet, so I planned on using an existing wall light outlet in my bathroom. This item is obviously not designed to mount to one, but it will fully cover one. And as a bonus, removing the felt on back revealed additional wiring cavities. This allowed me to trim the wire to just protrude out the back by about 8 inches. Next, I replaced the lame chain with one that was more robust, that required unscrewing the light fixture and pulling unscrewing the wires. Again, less work than anticipated. The original chain mount is microscopic, so I fudged it a but and am actually hanging the light from the wire, but its plenty strong enough. The next thing is that I needed a 100w equivalent bulb to light up the room. I'm sure I could have found one that fit without modification, but I ended up widening the hole in the globe by about 1/4" in diameter with a diamond dremel bit which allows me to fit pretty much any bulb. Warning, it is super thin glass, it chipped a bit on me. Still, the end product is exactly what I wanted. I might put some red LEDs in the eyes some day, but im tired now.

So got the Dragon and then painted the Dragon. Looks so much better with color.Directly wired it into the wall where another light was. Not hard to do.Easy to put together. Light is nice and bright.Plastic is a little thin and some cracks. Used Gorilla glue and looks fine.I think it looks totally cool.Everyone who’s seen it loves it.Good price. Nice size. Light weight.

This is a bad @$$ light. I put a hue bulb in it. It's solid. I am truly impressed which never happens nowadays. Packed well you could kick the box down the street and it would be fine.

This dragon head lamp looks really nice in person. Only complaint is that the cord on it is laughably short considering this will be mounted high up on the wall. Otherwise, looks and functions as shown.

I'm giving this 5 stars because I love it but theres some things you need to know. First, as most have stated the cord is short. I mounted mine over a wall junction box then cut and wired the lamp cord out the back. Definitely not for someone with no experience. With that said it still looks great if you can hang it above an outlet, also. Just dont expect a long cord.Also and definitely a big deal for me, the globe only fits an A15 appliance sized bulb to keep the heat down. A lifx or similar smart bulb will not fit in the opening in the globe. I solved this by going to a home improvement store. They offer a glass 6" globe that's got a bigger opening to fit my smart bulb and mounts without modification. Its not a perfect fit but you cant really tell, and it was 5 bucks.All in all I'm extremely pleased and it looks fantastic.

Looks great. Nice detail. This dragon sconce came well packed in thick formed Styrofoam. Looks as advertised.It may not be clear, but this is for indoor use only. It would not be safe in the rain, even if modified to fit over an outside electrical light box (as I was hoping to do).
