I bought these on September 15th, 2017. As of this review, that was over 6 years ago. I have lost a few of the sizes over the years, and the case is long gone, but I still use these same crochet hooks almost daily. The little lace ones haven't bent or broken on me, and the bigger ones haven't flaked paint and are still going strong. I'm sure there are better crochet hooks out there, but if you're a practical person, and all you need is a decent set of hooks for projects, these are perfect.

For the price, I think this is a great product. The case is a really pretty dark plum color and you can double up a couple of the hooks to make room for a few other hooks you may have around.So far I have used the 5.00mm and the 4.00mm hook. These hooks are made of a light metal and worked perfectly fine for my amurigumi stuffed animals. Some of the smaller hooks feel a bit more flimsy, but I don't think that will affect their use unless you are really rough with them. The larger hooks are brightly colored and offer a large range of sizes. I have to say, it is really nice to have a large variety of hooks available for me to use so I don't have to run to the craft store every time I find a new pattern!Overall, I think these are great for the beginner or even the advanced crocheter who wants to have a large selection of hooks. You can't beat the price, and most cases in the store do not come with hooks!

This is a great starter or backup set. We've recently moved and somehow my whole set of crochet hooks has gone missing in the millions of boxes left to unpack. This set gave me a good set to use until I find mine and then an awesome little backup kit for the future. For me, I tend to use bigger hooks so the tiny ones won't get a lot of use, but if you're looking for that type then this offers a great selection. I like that they're all one piece and all metal. I've snapped some plastic hooks and broken some that are two pieces welded together, but these seem very sturdy and I think will last a long time. The only other downfall is that they're only labeled in size and not in letters which a lot of patterns call for, but it's easy enough to look up the conversion so it doesn't bother me. I don't think you can find a better set for twice as much, and the case is awesome to have. Very happy with this purchase.

You should still have a wide enough range of crochet hooks sizes in order to craft almost any type of project from Scarves, Sweaters, Blankets to Socks, and with the smaller crochet hook set that is included. You should be able to create all sorts of Amigurium Dolls, Animals, or Whatever you wish! A nice starter set, because You will still want the missing 8.0mm crochet hook. Along with the random larger crochet hooks for larger threads, depending upon what type of project interests you.=== TRAVEL CASE: ===The Simulated Leather Travel Case on first blush did not seem like a big deal. However, upon further inspection I found it to be a quite well thought out case. The case has a soft Simulated Leather Exterior, with a Full Zipper Closer that goes almost entirely around, but stops just short of going entirely around the case, which would have compromised the sturdiness and structure of the case. The Case has a nice border binding stitch that includes, what feels like a metal wiring that helps to re-enforce the case’s structure and integrity to help the case last. The case is divided into two sides, with each side containing plastic holders to house individual crochet hooks for easy access and storage.The Aluminum Crochet Hooks are divided into the two sections housed on each side of the travel case. One Side on the right, housing the Full Sized (Colored) Aluminum Crochet Set (See full sizing description below.*) The Other side, (Left) holds the smaller set of Crochet Hooks (Se the smaller sizing desceiption below.**) The smaller crochet hooks enclosed have a nice hook sharpness which is needed in order to work with small threads, and do detailed crochet stitches. While the small crochrt hook set size is definitely like any other small milimeter crochet hook size, and susceptible to bending or breakage if you use a lot of pressure or pulling, they are well made and a nice set of crochet hooks. This product is alright, however I do have a few issues with it. Some of my needles came slightly bent. They bent back into a straight piece fairly easily, however, that makes me concerned as to the durability of the needles.Pros:- Plenty of needles to work with, the varying sizes allow you to work with vary fine yarn up to reasonably bulky yarn.- The carrying case is nice, although I see no reason to carry all of the needles with you, but the option is there for those who'd like to.Cons:- The material is most likely not the best considering how easily they are bent.- The needles themselves are not very comfortable to hold for a long period of time due to the thin widths of the needles.Edit: The seller directly contacted me after my review and provided a solution to all of the issues I had. They have very fast, kind and courteous customer service.
