Great product to combine mic inputs and free up space on your mixer! Great for drummers who mic their kits!
Great product. I bought two of these. My drummer uses them to take his 2 tom mics and put them thru one channel on the mixer, and with the other he takes his 2 overhead mics and uses this product to go into one channel. Saves space on your mixer, especially when you can combine signals from 2 mics that are essentially picking up the same type of sound. These work really well. Great value.

Good splitter. Limited combiner
Bought this to combine matched mics but unfortunately it doesn't pass phantom power to both sides so it doesn't fit our needs. Works fine as a splitter though where phantom power isn't an issue.

Humming present when splitting
When used as a splitter, there is humming present on at least one side (I had one side going to a PA and another to a recording device with phantom power). The noise worried me so I quickly unplugged one side. I had originally wanted to be able to leave both sides plugged in at all times, but I'm pretty sure that would be a mistake since true isolation wouldn't cause a hum and I fear damaging equipment. Now I mainly use it as a way to easily change the destination of the signal by switching out cables at the device instead of the microphone. This device is an improvement for my setup, but I'm not positive it was worth the price. I've never used it as a combiner and have no insight as to that functionality.

Very good product
I am using this to create my own personal monitor system (tired of haggling with the sound guys for the proper levels. I split my mic with it and send through a preamp to my wireless transmitter. This device works perfectly. No interference, sound quality is great and no detectable signal loss. If I were going to improve it I would say perhaps they could make the labeling a bit clearer because in a low light gig environment it is a little difficult to read, but overall a very good product.

Not a true isolation transformer, its a capacitive coupled circuit, beware of phantom power!
The circuit is capacitor-coupled, with two electrolytic and three ceramic capacitors. This blocks DC and thus phantom power, but real engineers beware the lack of isolation or impedance matching.A capacitor will output a DC current impulse until it "fills" up, then it blocks DC. DC has to be constant for it to block it. A true isolation transformer will pass a quick pulse but not remain on the isolated side like a battery. The capacitors inside this product act as a temporary storage battery, means if you apply 48 volt phantom power to the main side, you got a 48 volt battery on the isolated side unless you bleed the charge from pin 2 and 3 to ground before connecting your equipment. Do this and the isolated side will not have DC as long as phantom isn't switched off. Again DC must be constant for the caps to block it.It already cost me a mixer input and a sub mixer's output section. Don't make the same mistake I did. Ground lift does nothing for this symptom because the equipment you split/combine the signal to has a ground (OR SHOULD) which will complete the circuit thus causing damage. As a ground lift and phase invert its fine, but as a splitter/combiner and isolator you will have problems and equipment damage if you do not take the steps above to prevent it! Don't waste your money with these.
