Digirig Digirig works great

I needed a way to connect my hp laptop to my Yaesu FT-818 transceiver so that I could do digital radio. I purchased a Digirig unit along with a cable to connect it to my FT-818. I connected it all altogether and after some software setup it worked just fine. I am using it with WSJT-X and Fldigi. They both work well with Digirig.I also purchased the cable to connect it to a BAOFENG 5RX handheld radio. That also worked but the FT-818 is a much better radio so I normally use it. The main problem with the BAOFENG is that the receiver seems to get overloaded if connected to good outdoor antenna and does not receive well.Digirig also provides an output to program the radio and a cable is provided to do this. This also worked and provides a additional useful function.I highly recommend Digirig as a digital interface between a computer and a radio. It is a very nice and easy way to do digital radio using a very small well-designed unit.

Xiegu G90 + Digirig + CAT control cables. Works better than Signalink!

Bought the Signalink first and took forever so I bought this one to play with. Turns out I prefer the Digirig for several reasons:1) CAT control set up. Signalink is a PIA for support and I got Digirig running much easier with Flrig and use it for both WJST-X and Fldigi. Do a youtube search for "Getting FLRig to Play Nice with the Xiegu G90" by ErnieTech and he's got a great short video to get it going.2) Form factor. This thing is TINY. Great for POTA and SOTA when space is a premium.3) Cost Half the price of a Signalink. Buy two and keep one with each respective radio for the price of one bulky Signalink.4) Solid construction. Aluminum body. Signalink probably fine with POTA/SOTA rough housing in a bag but this thing is like a little tank.Don't forget to buy the cables too!Good stuff!

Game Changer!!

The DigiRig is a game changer. Its diminutive size vs its efficacy is SUPERB! I use it with my pedestrian amateur radio station and my laptop and numerous digital communication platform.
